Thatā€™s because your job and salary are dependent on you not knowing about chaos in that building, you fucking coward.

Itā€™s very frustrating as a young woman to constantly have your intelligence and competence underestimated by just about everyone, especially in the workplace. The one silver lining to this: those who most underestimate you (white men over 50) show you all their pathetic, paltry cards because they canā€™t be bothered to keep their guard up. I am so glad Olivia Nuzzi is willing to milk this micro-aggression for all itā€™s worth.

Thatā€™s certainly, um, reassuring.

An ever smaller circle knows whatā€™s going on there.

Terrifying.

You have to read the whole piece for the cumulative effect. He just goes on and on and on about how perfect everything is and was and if it ever wasnā€™t perfect nevertheless it was still perfect and they made some changes and itā€™s now more perfect and on and on and on. Seriously, read it. Itā€™s just bizarre. Person after person walks into the office in this obvious attempt to persuade her nothing is wrong or ever could have been wrong and everyoneā€™s happy all the time. I mean, I get that you donā€™t want to be wished into the cornfield but itā€™s just spooky.

For the most part (very most, the strongest most!), the conversation seemed indiscernible to what Trump would say to his children, or his chief of staff, or himself. Brief moments of lucidity when he remembers who heā€™s talking to and why heā€™s there, before collapsing back into his bathroom mirrorā€™s stump speech.

It made his rallies look sober, to the point Iā€™m amazed theyā€™re as coherent as they are!

Audience of one again. No sane person could believe all that clumsy simple-assertion theater. But the audience is insane.

I am, in a sick (or bad!) way impressed at the conviction of McConnell et al., who can see this froth-lipped pants-shitting madman sitting with his finger on the button and can apparently sleep at night knowing ā€˜no, itā€™s okay, SCOTUS really was more importantā€™.

Itā€™s not a GOOD impressed! It sure as hell isnā€™t commendable. But itā€™s notable.

Watching MSNBCā€™s coverage of Michael with the former (non-swampy) Fema director calmly advising what can and should be done, especially for those hardest hit.

He makes me feel better and Iā€™m far away from there.

Iā€™m so sick of the uncertainty (as is the Stock Market) and the absolute incompetence of this administration.

Vote as if your life depended on it.

And Trump is in Erie, PA for another rally. Also far away from Florida.

How would he know? He has admitted he spends a lot of time in the gym. Hence the weasel words ā€œTo the best of my knowledge.ā€

Kelly normally is known for his failure in baby sitting expertise.
OT but the genius has really stepped into some serious Saudi shyt . . .Emoluments Clause in full swing.

Reminds me of other greats in history, Nero, Stalin, Mussolini, Hitler, etc., including numerous Eastern European and South American dictators. Lavish lifestyle. Completely oblivious to reality and the common man.

Thanks for the analysis. Iā€™ll trust your word on this!

We learned recently that Jared Kushner was a ā€œhidden geniusā€. Now there is an even more preposterous view of the genius of Trumpā€™s coal strategy. We all know that US coal consumption has been falling as power plants are converted to natural gas or closed.

However, China in its rapid industrialization model, finds itself still generating over 60% of its primary energy from coal. It is such a crazy idea to stay so coal dependent as the country still must rely on imports and it knocks 5 years off the average Chinese lifespan. But Trump has removed the stigma of coal, especially when Obama was so clear-eyed about the subject. He pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement. He held rallies for coal. There are even governors in some land-locked states still hoping to build a coal harbor in Washington to send coal to China. But now China is waking up to an energy whammy, coal isnā€™t even economical. Who knew he could play his base to fake out our biggest economic rival?

This is OT but I canā€™t figure out a thread where it isnā€™t and itā€™s pretty extraordinary:

Huh. Interesting. This country boy has no idea what it might ultimately mean but obviously he had a hot potato that had to go somewhere and didnā€™t want to have misconduct problems himself.

Thereā€™s no question Kavanaugh lied under oath about factual matters and those lies can be proved. Soā€”what next? Stay tuned, sports fans.
