It may sound a little bit corny, but I’m from a Marine Corps family. Two generations of active duty Marines taught me the part of the Marine belief that all Marines everywhere are my Brothers. Life happened and took away my chance to serve, But the Corps runs strong in my Family.
I’m here to tell you flat out today that Kelly IS NOT my Brother. As far as I’m concerned, he doesn’t even rate as a poor relation. And “poor” is the kindest word I can use as far as he’s concerned.

Given that ICE has gotten the authority to act like Brownshirts and sht all over anyone’s Constitutional rights to ‘hunt out illegals’ Kelly actually thinks they are too ‘lazy’ to sign up? Well it always seems like a fair number of folks that go into police work do it so they can legally beat up people they think are a problem. So should really not be a surprise that some folks go into the military for similar reasons. For some reason I just thought the ones that made it through to general had been vetted a little better. Wishful thinking on my part I guess.

Christian Gomez Garcia went to traffic court Monday to deal with a ticket and ended up with a much bigger legal problem.
As Gomez Garcia left the room where driving offenses are heard in Cook County’s Skokie branch court, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents approached and arrested him, shipping him off to a holding facility in Wisconsin, apparently with plans to begin deportation proceedings.
Following an outcry two days later by immigration advocates and his lawyer, who appeared at a news conference in front of the courthouse with Gomez Garcia’s tearful mother, federal authorities reversed course and released him Thursday.
According to the Secretary of State’s office, Gomez Garcia’s driver’s license was suspended for failing to pay a fine for a driving offense. A search of court records in Cook County and other Chicago-area counties found no indication of criminal charges against Gomez Garcia.

I see this said over and over again by politicians and posters on the internet and it’s become a meme of it’s own. BUT my fellow liberals need to get this through their heads. For right wingers ALL ‘illegal immigrants’ have “commit crimes” by default, the act of coming here “illegally” in the first place is the original crime.
So when a right wing politician says ‘we will only deport illegal immigrants that have committed a crime’ they mean all ‘illegal immigrants’. The republican base hears “all illegal immigrants”. Yet the press and most liberals seem fine to let them hide behind this rhetorical trick. Liberals need to start demanding the press push back on right wingers who are pushing and hiding behind this bullshit narrative.

yep. My thoughts exactly. You would think, during his ascension, he came across undocumented and minority soldiers who served him honorably. One would hope he would have used those experiences to learn that these are good folks, and would use the content of character, Dr. King, logic.
But, it seems to be a trend with this sort of individual…The Trump and Kelly ilk–life lessons don’t seem to be worth learning with this breed.
In Trump’s case, it’s as though he’s lived his whole life and never took a positive lesson away from any of it. Kelly, sadly, doesn’t seem to be much different.
