Discussion: Kelly Promises 'No Mass Deportations' And No Use Of Military In Immigration Operations

While this article seems short on details, it’s my understanding from a casual reading of current news stories, that mass deportations have been underway the last few weeks.

Nope, im not going to use that ‘disconnect’ word, it wouldn’t be prudent.

So Kellly is in Mexico directly contradicting what his boss is up here saying just like Pence was just in Europe directly contradicting what his boss had said.

Wouldn’t it just be easier to get rid of the boss since this is a constant feature of this administration?

It appears standard disAdminstration procedure is to directly contradict Comrade Chaos within 24-hours to keep the “fine-tuned machine” running.

I’m sorry, I don’t like this guy, nor do I trust anything about him.

Drumpf has too many military guys in his cabinet as it is. The way I see it, if you are a hammer, everything around you looks like a nail. The military is being set up as Drumpf’s less-than-perfect tool in almost every situation he can’t get Congress to legislate on. That’s not strength, that’s weakness.

I guess only time will tell who’s lying, trump* or Kelly.

The military can’t come into the states and act as police or immigration enforcement. It violates both the Constitution and the Posse Comitatus statute.

Trump is spewing shit and kelly is trying his best to make it smell like roses because Mexico is our third largest trading partner and PeePee is pissing them off so much they just might plaster up a tariff on our shit.

The worst part of Drumpf’s order is that they are deporting people who are believed to have committed a criminal offense, even if they haven’t been convicted of one. No proof is required. A civil infraction of entering the country illegally is all that will be considered now, no ifs, ands, or buts. Its the thought police like in Minority Report I worry about. (Some police won’t go along this, but in some locales they most certainly will). Its also the expanded authority given to ICE, all those unconstitutional sheriffs groups, and Oath Keepers that have been given the go-ahead and who have been emboldened by these messages to round up people or go after them. There’s also the expansion of the private prison system (big donors to the GOP of course), the denial of due process, no availability for legal counsel, and even less money being planned to provide for immigrant services and those needing legal counsel in a proposed budget. Also, people will refuse to call police when necessary because they’re afraid of being questioned about their immigrant status or those of their loved ones and neighbors…

I heard of an example given the other day that a person fearful of having a communicable disease with immigrant status might not even agree to get it checked out for fear of being found out and deported. I also read some folks are pulling children from school and giving power of attorney to others should anything happen to them and their children are left without a legal guardian around to care for them. That’s already begun in some parts.

All these actions by this White House collectively are only going to make matters worse, less safe for everyone and more dangerous for undocumented immigrants and the communities they live in. And let’s not kid ourselves…we’re not talking about undocumented immigrants from Europe. And what’s up with deporting people to Mexico even if they’re from Equador or some other country south of the border? That’s apparently in the plans too.

Its not the military I worry about. That can be adjudicated and seems clearly against the law, except for Drumpf’s interest in using the National Guard…which was brought up the other day, I think. I can’t see most states going along with that. Drumpf would have to federalize the National Guard and still I can’t see that happening.

I worry about the message that is being sent that is already scaring the living daylights out of people, who don’t know what all this means for them in their personal lives right now. It starts to look like there is nothing to protect people from these intimidating remarks, actions or threats against them and no recourse. Make no mistake…saying “military operation” wasn’t a faux pas. I believe it was a deliberate form of intimidation even if he didn’t mean it literally. That’s not right.

Sorry…I can’t write very well today. I have difficulty with my eyes sometimes due to MS, and I’m not feeling so well. Maybe its the barometric pressure changing or something…
