That softball interview was probably an attempt at stopping the threats.
I’m sorry anyone had to go through such a thing. My first question is did Ms. Kelly and/or FOX executives notify authorities? If FOX felt this was real enough of a threat to hire bodyguards 24/7 for Kelly and/or her family, then I believe the police should have been notified of what was going on.
I’d like to add that I’m going to call a bit of BS on Kelly’s claim that she and Trump’s relationship is in a good place right now. I know she’s selling her book, even hopping over to CNN to hawk it, for goodness sake. I’m betting CNN executives are courting Megyn Kelly, and I wonder if she’s playing the field for a better contract. As a current FOX employee, she won’t trash them much but it’s gotta be noted that the irony level here on so many counts is sky-high. FOX owns the Republican/Tea Crazies, and Megyn Kelly was one of their best water carriers. She’s a very sharp lady, so I know she can’t miss the fact she helped to build this.

I was over at the FNS yesterday to get the name of one of their personalities and they still were advertising Greta Van Susteren’ show. What’s up with that, since she left or was removed in Sept. 2016?

so…she feels no obligation to come forward while the country is at the precipice under trump…but…NOW…she wants to sell her book so suddenly what she knows becomes important…THIS is why she is a fox news star and why a typical fox viewer is more ignorant watching fox news …than had they watched NOTHING at all.

If she had told the story earlier, who would have bought the book? She was “settling for more” as the title says. Just like she didn’t tell anybody for years about the sexual harassment from Ailes and continued to rise up Fox ladder. Only when it was safe for her to come out after Carlson lawsuit, she went in for the kill. Smart, but ethically and morally despicable.

And I’ll bet the farm that all of us will be buying Megan’s book, along with BillO’s “killing” series for Christmas presents for all of ur relatives and friends, NOT. I am guessing Ms. Kelley can pretty much go where she wants, as the cable networks line up to make nice to the Trumpistas and are looking for faux conservatives, her death threats notwithstanding…Wherever she ends up, it will be where the most money is.

I personally think she should have notified the authorities, sought their expert advise first, then if they gave her a green light to put it out there for public consumption that she had a moral obligation to do so. As someone upthread noted, that is element IS/WAS part of the story. If it had been me, I’d have put it out there using my television show. Megyn Kelly is host to one of cable television’s highest rated shows – and she should have used that bullhorn. That said, this is FOX, so what the hell else do we expect?

The trouble is the concrete danger was from random people Trump stirred up. If you’re threatened by a person you can identify the police can act. I’m not sure at what point, if ever, the kind of irresponsible talk the Trump people engaged in makes them culpable.
She did indeed help create the situation. But it seems like neither of us condone the kind of threats she was subjected to. That doesn’t seem like such a hard balance to strike.

It begs the question: Why is America only learning about this now?
The answer: Few Americans realize that 5 huge media conglomerates account for over 90% of the news reported to the people. These 5 giant media corporations are either owned by Billionaires OR Governed by CEO’s and Boards that are very very rich. In other words - the US Main Stream Media is absolutely NOT a liberal media but over the last 15 to 20 years it has become a neo-conservative media. We also know that the social media heavyweights like Facebook were played very smartly by the Republicans and Trump…they totally out strategized and outplayed the Democrats. Steve Bannon is an expert at the propaganda game from his training at the Naval Academy in espionage warfare tactics.
In 2002, the FCC relaxed and pretty much removed any controls on Media ownership and our standing anti-trust laws do NOT apply to the media. The media is the FCC’s jurisdiction. Our nation’s media is in the hands of the Big 5… IF, and that’s a big if these days, we want to have a vibrant Democracy, we need to have a vibrant and free media…free from corporate control and control by a small group of very wealthy individuals.
Look at the Boston Globe - now owned by one of America’s wealthiest hedge fund billionaires and controlled by John Henry as well. John Henry is an ultra conservative. The Washington Post the same thing now…Jeff Bezos.
Over the coming weeks, we (Americans) are going to be shocked at some of the revelations that were not told about Trump…Wikileaks did the job on Clinton with the help of the FSS (replaced the KGB under Putin).

It would have only fired up the Deplorables even more getting hard ons for her public burning at the stake.
Which really is a good idea for many of us. Just sell stupid crap to the rubes and make some money off of them.
Which leads to the question of: Will trump be able to brand the presidency? If I make and sell trump t-shirts with the word “president” on them, will I have to cut him a percentage?

Yep.
Although there is probably a clause in her contract w/Fox that gives them some control over release dates and perhaps even content of books and other non-Fox activities.
Of course either way these dovetail nicely.
I’d be willing to give a pass here. Women have a lot of shit to put up with and sometimes speaking up has repercussions.
