My beef with Kelly is that she did not disclose this BEFORE the election. As a “hard hitting journalist” - heck, as any kind of journalist with principle I believe she had an obligation to reveal to the public the lengths an aspiring politician will go to shut down criticism.
This is a harbinger of what is to come.

And Megyn Kelly’s kids should not be a target here.
AND the PEOTUS should not have his people engaging in the kind of rhetoric that would encourage supporters to put either her or her kids in danger.
I get that most people disagree with Megyn Kelly and her journalistic approach and everything about her employer, but is it so hard to agree that threatening a person’s children (or encouraging those threats when you are about to become the country’s leader) is wrong???

Trump would gladly provide her stories for her. She wouldn’t even have to write them. Just affix her name and e-mail them to Fox before going back to sipping tea and munching on caviar and biscuits. I have very little sympathy for Megyn Kelly about this.
She had ample opportunities to expose Trump for the dangerous psychopath he is, and DECIDED to do nothing, preferring to continue cashing those ample FOX News paychecks instead.
She made this bed, now she must sleep in it with the rest of us.

An important point here is that this is how Trump et al treat their friendly media…Kelly didn’t really ask any hard questions, they were totally fair and not meant as gotchas. In fact, they were all questions Trump et al should have expected and been prepared for, instead of seeing them as attacks. The fact that a few non-softball questions have turned into Kelly requiring security should have everyone worried, because you can expect far worse treatment for any reporters who do try to investigate Trump very seriously and publicly, and get traction for doing so. I mean, David Fahrenthold has done marvelous reporting, but since it’s in a newspaper it didn’t make the impact it should have compared to talking heads (which is a pretty damn sad statement in itself)…when someone does that lever reporting that is widely known, especially if it’s a non-white male, it’s going to be a scary show to watch them get threatened and attacked.

Trump will let the employer and ownership of any offending journalist know in no uncertain terms it’s within his power to make their lives miserable unless the dogs are called off. I doubt he’ll even bother to cover his tracks or deliver the threat through deniable back channels. He can depend on his supporters and loyalists to rally to his side, having demonized the media so successfully to this point. Maybe he can even goad the public into harassing and assaulting journalists, similar to the treatment accorded Muslims in public these days. Afterward Mike Pence can pronounce it all refreshing.

Look, I know everyone thinks Meghan has a lot to answer for, but she’s answering for a lot of it with all of this. She’s stood up. Maybe not for liberals, but right now she is standing up for women who endure far more of this than men can imagine. They think we’re being dramatic. They think we’re making it up.
It’s beyond pervasive and I will applaud her for this alone and not make it part of anything else because what she is doing is right and she is being harassed for doing what is right.

Certainly Sean Hannity is one of the more odious human beings drawing a breath. He consistently criticized the women that came forth to accuse Trump of sexual improprieties. His misogyny may only be rivaled by Trump himself. Yet when rumors of a rift developing between Kelly and Hannity surfaced, allegedly due to Sean’s butthurt over Kelly’s reporting and treatment of Trump, Kelly rushed to the camera for a kiss and make up photo and assurances to everyone Sean was one swell guy and all was right in the Fox universe. Yeah, she’s a peach.
