Discussion for article #247127
Hey, Keith. You should check if your building actually IS a Trump building. Apparently, just because it says Trump, it’s not necessarily the real deal.
In related news, Olbermann pens Op-Ed announcing that he can afford to live in a Trump building, but also has the means to move within Manhattan even at its current rates.
Olbermann went on to say that he’s a $10 Million chandelier that doesn’t fit in a $5 Million Trump apartment.
So?
If you were a highly paid ESPN talent you would be able to also.
Just because he doesn’t flip burgers for living doesn’t mean he has no right to an opinion.
ISIS: No worries, we will rent. In fact, we would like to have all of Trump buildings as our base.
Putin. Stand in line.
I always wondered about him buying a condo in a Trump building. That seemed very odd to me.
of course, it’s pointing the wrong way.
I live to see the day that damn name is pried off of the silver tower in Chicago. I live to see the day – and I will see it!
True, but Trump has always been the same arrogant clown. Always. Yet Keith did decide to live in one of his buildings for years. Why? I never ever would, and I can afford to live in them (no, not the Penthouse of course, but the standard apartments). Nor as a contractor would I ever work for that clown, he has a reputation for screwing contractors. So this strikes me more as a Keith ego piece. I agree with his politics, but his ego has always been a bit much for me.
Probably did it for status. And Donald Trump has always been exactly what he is now. No different, an arrogant punk. So Olbermann’s rant is not really impressing me. He also trashed the contractor, yet we have no idea what the real deal is on that. Was the contractor not being paid? Were their field conditions that came up that Trump refused to pay for, or delayed approval on? Oh, the contractor might have been no good, sure. But I’d like to see more facts before trashing them.
Keith, I miss your expounding on the current events of the day. Your faults aside, I really did enjoy watching your program on MSNBC during the Bush years. I structured my evenings around your time slot. I was upset by your habit of burning bridges when you left a job and your ego. But that aside you have a way of word craft that is sorely lacking in this day and age. And I was upset and left hanging when you got fired. Yet you landed on your feet back at the Mother Ship doing that which you started with…sports.
Worst person in the world indeed.
Every one of those recipients deserved that award.
And counting the days since “Mission Accomplished”. Excellent.
I miss this guy. I’m aware (vaguely) of the personality clashes/diva issues that let to his multiple firings, and yeah he sometimes seems to speak before thinking. But damn could he deliver those special comments. I don’t think any liberal on the Tee-vee comes close to his passion and eloquence.
Independent of ego?
KO is/was nearly the best at every aspect of broadcast journalism requested of him.
KO is much closer to being worth the money he makes–
compared to the know-nothings and ignore-everythings that inhabit the profession.
He made a political statement-- and backed it up personally in writing.
Good on him.

Hah. Olbermann can still be quite funny. That’s great.
So: there’s plenty of ways to make his argument without inserting a humblebrag “I’m rich”
Hit him in the pocketbook. I am surprised there isn’t more of a boycott Trump products movement. It should be easy now to make the brand toxic, and to ensure that the Donald experiences yet another bankruptcy.

Good move, Keith. You sure showed Trump. He’s learned his lesson, to be sure. Donald will certainly think twice before he messes with you again.
Me too.
