Discussion: Kavanaugh's Roommate Recalls Him As 'Belligerent,' 'Aggressive' When Drunk

So I’m beginning to wonder what the evidence is about effects of heavy alcohol consumption on brain development. It’s known that the brains of teenagers haven’t fully completed making certain sets of connections, especially those associated with more sophisticate judgments and foresight.

Apparently the only hard drinker who never blacked out and regretted behavior… must be nice.

Does Kavanaugh understand that even if he is confirmed, when/if the Democrats get control of the House they will have unfettered discretion to make his life a hell if they so choose?

All the hidden documents will be theirs.

Any witnesses the GOP did not call they can call?

He should be happy he has a seat on the DC Circuit and slink away VERY slowly.

I forgot - was it Barack Obama or Hillary Clinton that was in charge of matching roommates at Yale in 1983?

I’ve been thinking all along that criminal referrals take a lot fewer votes than impeachment. And although the current justice department is corrupt, republicans still won’t like an investigation.

You would think that some Republicans would be looking for a way out of this short of taking a vote, especially as more info like this comes out and women who initially signed letters of support are now withdrawing their names. But it sure seems as if the Senate is dug in.

However, I think McConnell’s statements about an up or down vote, and that Republicans have to decide now, could be a message for those who will vote against confirmation to let him know so he can pass the word along with the result that Kavanaugh will withdraw. Everybody who needs to sound like they’re backing Trump and Kavanaugh will be able to get their support known and they can blame it all on partisan democrat political character assassination. I could be wrong, but it just has the feel that some of them want to look like they’re fighting but don’t really want the bell to ring.

I could not agree more. It is like the R’s have picked a bar fight and are screaming “let me at 'em, don’t hold me back” while praying that their friends actually do jump in and hold them back.

You are known by the company you keep. His fraternity chose him, the secret society chose him, and he has chosen not to admit that.

Has anyone asked him about his time in DKE? Or what was the purpose of TNC (Truth and Courage)?

It’s been my experience that if your friends are hard drinking rabble rousers then why would they hang with a devout Catholic teetotaler?

This guy adds to a long list of people the DNC has somehow hypnotized into spewing a litany of lies.

Even if he had consensual sex in high school or early college years, he’s committed perjury.

The judge said he never had sexual intercourse “or anything close to (it)” until long after he left Georgetown Prep, the elite all-boys Catholic high school he attended in Rockville, Maryland.

“So you’re saying through all these years that are in question that you were a virgin?” MacCallum asked Kavanaugh.

“That’s correct," he replied.

She pressed on: “And through what years in college, since we’re probing into your personal life here?”

“Many years after, I’ll leave it at that," he answered. “Many years after.”

The guy who was his roommate for years corroborates his behavior as a belligerent drunk, matching the behavior described in the accusation from Blasey Ford.

Ramirez’s Yale accusation is backed up by a Yale classmate who says he has remembered it for 35 years.

K’s argument that the Yale incident couldn’t have happened because it “would have been the talk of campus” if it had, is refuted by the news that in fact, it was.

In my humble opinion the only reason anyone still imagines he can get confirmed is that this hasn’t all had time to gel in their minds yet. As it does, his chances will drop to zero.

The differance is there is no sign of or statement of regret. As is often the case, Kavanaugh does himself no favors by continuing to deny rather than making a statement about his misguided youth that may have led to some inappropriate behavior for which he is truly apologetic.

If lying on Fox News is perjury they’re gonna need a big new jail on Long Island.

I’d like to hear the roommate weigh in on Kavanaugh’s claim to have retained his virtue though. So many folks seem to be interpreting it as ‘technically a virgin’ or ‘obviously so sexually frustrated’ when it seems simplest and most likely to me that the entire statement is a blatant lie.

Of course the question is not was he a virgin… the question is did he engage in inappropriate behavior of a sexual nature.
