Now we know where Roberts’ stands vis-a-vis Kavanaugh. They’re birds of feather.
Really, why?
Something wicked this way comes.
Is this normal?
Has a new SCOTUS ever been sworn in day of confirmation, on a Saturday?
Is this all about Gamble?
Well, this definitely does not improve the day.
So he is going to perjure himself again?
A lot has been said about Roberts’ commitment to the institution of the Supreme Court. I think people give him too much credit on this score.
Roberts is like ABS for your car. When the shit hits the fan, you slam on the brakes because you absolutely want the car to stop, and now. ABS does its thing not because car builders are second-guessing your desire to stop, not because they think that prolonging the process will give you time to change your mind, but because the brakes lose their effectiveness entirely if the tires begin to slide.
I don’t think Roberts has some kind of principled commitment to the integrity of the Court, or the larger network of institutions that make a free society work. He just recognizes that if the Court is too obvious in its fealty to the powerful, society will find ways to work around the Court entirely.
I think the time has come for us to do exactly that: make the Court irrelevant.
National Federalist
Notable members of the society have included:
Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts[note 1]
Former United States Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia (who served as the original faculty advisor to the organization)[39]
Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito[9]
Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas[9]
Supreme Court Justice Neil Gorsuch[40]
Will he show up sober the first day of work? Maybe that day but probably not others. Who knows maybe he’s joined AA.
My goodness, why the rush? One would think there’s some sort of agenda at play here.
Looking forward to the rulings! So exciting! Can’t wait!
They’ll probably having him do some light duty tasks at first like sweeping the floors, keeping the frig stocked with beer and changing light bulbs.
My sense is Gamble must play a huge role in Roberts’ calculus.
Vigilante justice? Like others, I’m unhappy with the new Justice and the process that got him what he so wants. But, neurologically speaking, rage closes off the ability to think. The last thing we need now is to lose our minds.Rather, form strategy and tactics that serve democracy long term, and act. A battle lost doesn’t lose the war; else our country would never have survived Bull Run.
Evil Never Sleeps.
These people are 100% evil. They are vicious, immoral criminals. Any faint hope that they will behave in ways beneficial or constructive to the welfare of the human race has always been frivolous and unpardonably stupid:
This is the fault of the Democratic party. They’ve been betraying us ever since they allowed Bush2 to be anointed president by a less evil but still corrupt SCOTUS. They did NOT have to go along with this; people begged them not to go along with this.
I don’t know if Mueller had planned on that but he deliberately left certain things uncharged so the state prosecutors could handle it. He can play chess like a sonofabitch. It’s just as possible they’re rushing the swearing-in because there are more fun revelations coming down the pipeline.
Having been born in post-WW2 Germany I have often been pestering my grandparents to understand how and why the Weimar Republic unraveled.
One conclusion I am drawing, based on what I learned from them, is that you may have preciously little time left to save your democracy. Once it becomes obvious it is too late.
Checks and balances are failing before our eyes.
And the Band Played

I feel very sad for RGB having to work with this person.
Nope. Wrong. This is the fault of scum that decided that they wouldn’t be browbeaten into voting for HRC using SCOTUS as a reason. Those sh*theads voted their conscience. And now, we get an illegitimate SCOTUS hell bent on destroying the country.
