Discussion: Kavanaugh Accuser's Lawyer Says She Is Willing To Publicly Testify

Surely, the woman is willing to testify publicly, not to publicly testify.

(Whether or not split infinitives are grammatical–they are not–they are bad writing. And almost always easy to avoid.)

Turning lemons into lemonade. I like this lady more and more. Seems that integrity has a place afterall.

She is very brave to do this. She will will undoubtedly be called a liar and receive death threats, especially from the Christo-Facists whose only goal in life is undoing Roe vs. Wade.

Get Mark Judge under oath, too.

Ford will say she remembers what happened, and that it was Kavanaugh and Judge. Rs will insist that Kavanaugh NOT be called to testify again, and stick with his statement: never happened.

So Judge is the key. He will say this didn’t happen.

And (if Ds are smart – I kid, I kid), they will ask about his memoir of being a blackout drunk in high school.

“What does it mean, to be a blackout drunk, Mr. Judge?”

If I recall the WaPo story correctly, the she’s-a-little-bit-nutty-and-a-little-bit-slutty assault has already started.

She was hopelessly naive if she really thought that she could derail Bart O’Kavanaugh’s nomination and remain anonymous.

In classic fashion a Republican senator was on a Sunday show making a statement he will have to go back on…

Sen. Kennedy (LA) said there was nothing they could do with the accuser being anonymous.

Now that she isn’t, one might think a Republican will have to live with the scenario…

Then we remember Orrin Hatch “All Obana would have to do is nominate a judge like Merrick Garland and we could confirm him…”

The repug/freakazoid goal is to eliminate the constitutional right to privacy. First gut Roe (you don’t have to overturn it, just make it irrelevant.) That gets you a fatal shot at Griswold, and dead Griswold means farewell to the right to privacy.

Not just no abortion and no birth control, but no sex of any kind outside of cis/hetero/same-race marriage. No divorce. No anti-discrimination laws, so welcome to the new segregation and the new Jim Crow.

No protection from workplace harassment. No equal treatment for women. Gays back in the closet.

No civil or human rights for anyone not white, male, straight, xian, rich and repug.

Gilead would be an improvement.

Professor Ford is a damned patriot.

And Kavanaugh is done. If the @GOP is stupid enough to seat him, they lose the Senate for sure (see elsewhere on the @TPM front page).

I would like to see Anita Hill sitting right behind her during the testimony. Anyway that can be arranged?

I would guess they have been in communication. Ford needs to know what she is up against and Anita Hill knows better than anyone.

I hope Professor Ford hires Professor Hill as counsel to help her with the hearing.

Right, those nutty and slutty types often get jobs at major academic institutions (Palo Alto and Stanford) in clinical psychology. I have even more respect for her that she was able to put together a successful career after her attack, the memory of which never goes away.

In some sense all this might even qualify as refreshing that such as POTUS as he is, on almost any subject any of us can imagine so routinely out of his depth it’s like he’s constantly susceptible to drowning in a half inch of stagnant water, is committing so firmly and inextricably to a particular policy on which he’s able to call upon a vast warehouse of personal experience the dimensions of which are actually staggering, as well as a relentless and intense personal interest that has been sustained through virtually his entire lifetime.
