Discussion: Kathy Ruemmler Tells Obama Not To Pick Her As Next Attorney General

Discussion for article #229297

Why should she spend two years under subpena or indictment? Good call.

Verrilli would be a HORRIBLE pick…one of these revolving door types thats in the copyright maximalists pockets…look at his record and employment history. He lied to the SCOTUS about the governments warrantless wiretapping to start

The fact that the rumored “leading” choice to replace Holder is current Solicitor General Donald Verrilli, the former top litigator for both the MPAA and RIAA – who handled the lawsuits against Grokster, YouTube and Jammie Thomas, among others, doesn’t exactly bode well that Holder’s successor will be much of a champion of digital rights either. There are, however, some other choices on the table apparently, and it would be nice if future attorneys general actually recognized the importance of digital rights as well.

controversies involving Benghazi, IRS and the 2012 Secret Service prostitution scandal

Controversies? This is a list of political grievances so petty they would make Al Gonzales blush with shame.

Hmmm, skeletons in the closet, perhaps?

I have also decided to not want to be considered for attorney general, or to want to not be considered for attorney general.

I don’t think that is a fair conclusion. The confirmation process and the job are grueling and many may not want to subject themselves or their families to it.

We’re probably stuck with Holder to the end of Obama’s term. When the GOP gets the Senate, they won’t confirm anyone Obama appoints for anything.

Tom Perez would be a very interesting AG.

It was a posit, not a conclusion.

Skeletons? More likely, she said “Why would anyone with two brain cells to rub together want to subject themselves to the shrieking, treasonous/seditious children which is/are the Senate Republicans? I’d rather be forced to read John Galt’s speech, without a break, for two years; or be forced to debate Bill Kristol, Herman Cain, Sarah Palin, Rancid Prenis, and Louie Gohmert, without being allowed to state my position in more than three words. Nominee? Maybe after someone lobotomizes me.”

Much more likely than any skeletons being “posited.” Yeah, I know, you’re just trying to be the first in with Cokie’s Law. Take it to the traitors at Red Stoat, why don’t you?

A flaming liberal would be nice. Not a robot, just someone that sees things through the liberal lens and not the corporations or the military’s. Not really a partisan either, just a person that doesn’t fall into the Faux, conservative, teabagger, right wing whine fest/poutrage, about everything.

Preferably colored, female, gay and relatively young with deep background in Kenyan culture. Because, may as well piss off the idjits every chance we get.
