The inanity of arguing for the survivability of themonuclear war was recenly illustrated in Annie Jacobsen’ “The Pentagon’s Brain”. The evidence from the 50’s was that living in a deep bomb shelter doesn’t make any more sense as a survival tactic than “duck and cover”. Bombs go off, and everybody dies.
And keeps dying from the radiation.
No but the Democratic Party is in shambles, fractured, etc., and Republicanism is ascending.
Aren’t the Mercers the ones stockpiling piss in the search for the Fountain of Youth at that Oregon ranch?
Are you being serious, TGOET?
“Disarray” is the word you’re looking for.
Jennifer Rubin says she no longer considers herself a Republican.
No. Isn’t that the meme though?
I got an idea. How about declining access to local law enforcement.
Why would anyone want to survive a thermonuclear war? Preppers obviously believe that things would not be “all that bad” once all the weapons have vaporized their targets. Or is Dystopia the new Utopia? I wouldn’t want to live there!
Well yeah - the disarray in the Democratic Party is a favorite press meme. Has been forever almost.
At the moment, my feeling is that the Democratic Party is rocking right along with all the attitude I wanted from it.
I’d keep my eye on the GOP - there is a pull inside the party in at least 3 directions, pulling away from each other. Trumpers, Tea Partiers, the shreds of the Old School GOP, which may have picked up a few people lately.
I have always said that if it comes to nuclear war, I’m climbing up on my roof and painting an enormous target and the words for Right the Fuck Here in whatever language is spoken by the country about to bomb us.
I refuse to do aftermath.
Yep, the last thing you want is to not have your city bombed.
move close to an air force base.
I want to be at ground zero - I’d vaporize - whoosh.
I don’t want to stumble around with my skin on fire and my eyeballs melting down my face like the people at Hiroshima did. I read John Hershey’s book. I know what horror it is.
Read the book and saw the movie in my early teens. Scared and depressed the hell out of me.
Good site.
I’ve always dreamed of fighting to survive in a dystopian future. Maybe eating mutated animals, driving across a desolate landscape in a muscle car looking for gas and potable water, etc.
Or silos. Cheaper real-estate there.
And Rand is going full bore on the “Bernie of the Right” thing.
