Discussion: Kasich Says He ‘Just Can’t’ Bring Himself To Vote For Trump Despite Pledge

Sometimes that works in the short term to get you laid. But you finally decide her crazy girlfriend Judy and her boyfriend Weird Billy (and that goddamned mangy dog they own) will somehow get you all thrown in jail or killed somewhere by the side of the road one day. Ah, to be twenty again…

Donald is the poster boy for “when a man tells you who he is, believe him.” It’s quaint that Club Appalled is now shocked - shocked, I tell you! - that Trump actually believes all the sh*t he’s been spewing for years.

wow nowarino - that is the most perfect take-down of a faux moderate I’ve seen! well done, you!

I didn’t even go into his attempt to take monies from Planned Parenthood for basic non-abortion related heath services and give the money to lying religious based ‘Crisis Pregnancy Centers’ staffed by prayer leaders or the fact his administration has so screwed up the for-profit school voucher system they don’t even know if the students are real.

He’s angling for some kind of promise of a position in the Trump Regime. Maybe he plans to be Veep and then a Terrible Accident will happen.

Or possibly Kasich wants Trump to eat shit and grovel publicly first as payback for the primaries.

Translation: “I am going to run again in 2020 and I need to cover my ass NOW since I see what a disaster this cycle is becoming.”

It’s easy to say he can’t bring himself to vote for Trump now - he doesn’t have to vote yet. The hard part is on November 8.

I still wonder if enough Republicans say stuff like this if they’ll try and do something silly like change the party name at the convention so Trump is the Republican nominee but they are all part of the “Great American Party” or something for this election.

This was the biggest threat to the Republicans from the very beginning - not Trump or his rhetoric. The biggest threat was that Trump and his rhetoric would expose the true “values” and “core beliefs” of the majority of the Republican base. Skilled politicians like Kasich have been successful precisely because they have found ways to speak around the id of conservative voters just enough to sate them without alienating the 20% of the rest of the electorate they needed for a majority. The greatest threat that Trump and Cruz presented was that in different ways, they gave the electorate permission to release the id. Pandora’s box would have been easier to close than the one Trump and Cruz have blasted open.

So when does Ryan say this? I think he will before November. Isn’t Ryan’s primary in August?

What’s with these guys who continue to harbor this absurd fantasy that this sociopath is going to “moderate” his tone and become more “measured” and “Presidential”? We have a 40-year history of this emotionally unstable, self-absorbed, publicity-hound calling people names, throwing temper tantrums, flirting with all manner of loony conspiracy theories, spewing rank ignorance and lies whenever he opens his mouth, embarrassing himself, his family, and his country . . . . Where is there any indication that he is even marginally capable of controlling his darkest, most toxic instincts? There is none - NONE. If anything, the evidence demonstrates conclusively that when The Donald is put under stress, he only gets worse. Wake the hell up, Kasich. This is the guy!! This is who he is!!

It kinda tells you which way Ohio is going to in this general election. And before anyone says Ted Cruz, remember that guy was so disliked that Trump was preferable to him.

It’s a brand new lipstick color–Cheetos!

Oh puhleeeze. Kasich will do what he’s told just like ALL politicians.

Wow. What a profile in carefully studied, considered, debated, poll-tested, delayed and only grudging courage.
