Anger and fear are reliable motivators to stir up the frightened masses, and it’s what republicans reliably do. It’s only been Democratic administrations that offer hope, a promise of a better tomorrow and light instead of dark, but it’s hard to agitate the masses with promises of something better than what they have today.
In his scathing critique of his rivals, Kasich again deployed a favorite line: that he wouldn’t take the “low road” to the “highest office in the land.”
But he would gladly take the road less voted for.
