Discussion: Kasich Rips Apart Cruz, Trump In Speech Warning Of 'Path To Darkness'

“Path to Darkness” sounds like a video game or an Anime show.

So not so far off.

“Those who continuously push that type of behavior are not worthy of the office they are seeking,” Kasich said.

What does he do for GOP conventions, rent a room in the hotel across the street and sit in the dark by himself?

… IIRC he’s rescinded his pledge to support the eventual nominee even if he isn’t the one, right?

Then who is he voting for to save America from the said darkness?

Tea Party: Kasich is a liberal. He should go back to Goldman Sachs and FOX.

Oh, fuck you and the “moderate” media label you rode in on, Kasich, you 55-gallon drum of rancid yak shit. You would suck the balls of the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson at the same time on a prime-time episode of “America’s Got Talent” for 3 1/2 hours while a military band played “I’ve Got A Lovely Bunch Of Coconuts” and the entire Duggar family tap-danced in the background in order to further your presidential campaign, you fucking lying loser.

So now you call them out. Too little, too late.

We wouldn’t be on this path if you, and every other GOPer called them out a long time ago, along with calling out all your colleagues who were yelling “You lie!” in the SOTU, or dabbling in birther nonsense, or claiming Obama is a dictator/tyrant, or any of the other ways of trying to make him illegitimate in the GOP base’s eyes.

That could drive America down into a ditch and not make us great again

the party that yearns to go back wants to return to the ditch we just spent the last 8 years digging out of?

He could have started down this road, say, six months ago. Like all the other GOP cowards he wouldn’t denounce Trump early because of fear that Trump would turn on him – or because he secretly agreed with him, if not the incendiary rhetoric.

I thought GOOPERs were required to wear The Hat when they talk about making America great again

“Kasich ripped apart his rivals for the Republican presidential nomination…during a speech Tuesday to the Women’s National Republican Club.”

A speech to a women’s organization?
Warning of extremism?
By Kasich?

If irony’s not yet dead, then he’s certainly doing his best to smother it with a pillow.

NYT headline:

“Ohio Governor John Kasich’s anti-woman agenda continues with latest round of defunding.”

Did I just miss the “rips apart” part?

“”“people who are “angry” and “afraid” of the current state of the country”"…they are angry but the country is not in the current state they’ve been told it is. Their anger is at things that don’t exist. Things that folks like Kasich, as well as Cruz and Trump have told them just to cultivate that anger.

Today’s good news is that Paulie is going to save his greatness for another day by announcing this afternoon he’s not running. A grateful nation weeps.

@richardinjax
Anger and fear are reliable motivators to stir up the frightened masses, and it’s what republicans reliably do. It’s only been Democratic administrations that offer hope, a promise of a better tomorrow and light instead of dark, but it’s hard to agitate the masses with promises of something better than what they have today.

In his scathing critique of his rivals, Kasich again deployed a favorite line: that he wouldn’t take the “low road” to the “highest office in the land.”

But he would gladly take the road less voted for.

Well maybe. But Democrats are capable of some pretty serious bullshit too. Gulf of Tonkin comes to mind.

This! Meanwhile, the Sunday talk shows will show video of Kasich saying this and do all they can to promote him as the “moderate, reasoned” choice completely ignoring his horrid record on women’s rights.

That was incredibly detailed and oddly specific.

Reliable? Hell, they are the undisputed champions of motivation, and not just for the pre-frightened.
