Discussion: Kasich: 'It Sure Appears' That Racism Motivated The Charleston Shooter

Discussion for article #237665

The bar is so low that this banal statement is considered courageous and unique amongst the GOP candidates.

A little less weasley that Bush, but Kasich’s tepid response is moving in the right direction. Just parrot what the perpetrator said. You don’t have to apologize for stating the obvious.

He will when it comes time to campaign in SC.

I swear to fucking god, if a Republican just plain comes out and says this all about racism, nothing else, I’ll die of shock. But, I doubt that will happen, and Republicans will continue giving a master class in saying something but meaning nothing.

Perfect description.

Amazing. The former Fox News host goes off script.

A GOP Prez candidate willing to espouse already apparent facts doesn’t stand a chance of winning the nomination. Next he’ll say ā€œIt sure seems like the Earth is billions of years old.ā€ and BAM!, his campaign will be in the toilet.

Oh for eff’s sake here…It doesn’t appear- the man’s confessed and stated that he wanted to start a race war and kill Black people!

Well, this proves that Kasich is smarter than Guiliani, Bush, Santorum, Rand Paul, and Rick Perry. A low bar to clear, admittedly, but it will likely doom his presidential aspirations, at least as a Republican.

There is something to be said for being the smartest guy on the short bus. But this statement is poison for Kasich. Not because it is true, but because it goes against Rupert’s version as perpetrated on the WSJ and Fox Noose. They told their not bright readers and viewers it was an act against The Christian religion, so as to prime their viewers for their next outrageous lies.
Rupert helps the GOP because it makes him money. At the same time he controls them with his media empire.

Roof told the victims they are raping his women and taking over the country. He’s worn a jacket with flags from apartheid-era South Africa and nearby Rhodesia, a former British colony that was ruled by a white minority. He also told the police he wanted to start a race war.

But was racism the motivation? Golly gee, I guess we’ll never know…

The bar is very low, but isn’t it amazing how many of them trip over it nearly every single time?

Webster’s defines racism as: " poor treatment of or violence against people because of their race". I’m really struggling to see how one could call the act in question anything other than racist in the clear meaning of the word.

He ain’t got a Chinaman’s chance at the nom. (That’s what some people on Fox News might say).

That’s true, but in the unlikely event he got it, I believe he would be the strongest candidate against Hillary.

ā€˜ā€¦it appears to be racially motivated’… leaves a lot of wiggle room to correct himself when needed.

John is a pure, professional politician. Never worked a day at places we peons work (ed). All his moves are political.

Kasich dips his toe into the water of honesty. Don’t catch a cold.

Racism doesn’t matter to his voters, in fact it encourages them because an attack on the tribe in any way is an attack on all that they are. Racism is dead in the conservative mind because they need it to be, how can they admit to something so disgusting and still appeal to the rest of America? Answer, they can’t.

They know better, their political guts just override their common sense and human decency. The conservative soul is what no longer exists in America, racism is what fills their empty bodies along with greed and an all consuming meanness.
