Didn’t do a background check?

I love the word abhorrent. And abhor.
God, they just feel so good to say.

What happened to TPM’s live results feed?

For many of the Repubs, being a jack booted thug is a required skill set for employment, I didn’t think so for Kasich…

I would have thought that anyone working for someone under state police protection would be vetted.

Props for Katich for doing the right thing and firing him. Should have vetted your staffers a little better, but still this was the correct thing to do.

It has become apparent to me that God hates all the Republican candidates…

Not a laughing matter, but too bad it was the rapid response director, otherwise they could have found out about it more, um, rapidly.

No one stopped to think that even a perfunctory apology to the victim was in order, just the boilerplate “abhorrent and unacceptable.”

Apparently the diversion program is a huge failure. A man who completed the program years ago, murdered his wife. He recently shot her dead in their home.

A prime employee choice for Joe Scarborough.

Well, since this happened after he was already working for Kasich, it wouldn’t have mattered.

How would vetting him have revealed something he would do in the future?

While one failure, no matter how appalling, hardly defines the value of a program, domestic violence behavior is notoriously difficult to treat because it is often so firmly rooted in the assailant’s belief systems, and family history.

He went to work for the campaign the same month he got arrested. It’s unclear which came first in November of last year.

We don’t know that. His arrest was Nov. 12, 2105… and he went to work for the campaign the same month, but it is unclear if it was before or after the date of the arrest.

There are often strong indicators in attitudes and past behaviors, but I suspect most vetting protocols are not oriented toward identifying those trends, perhaps in part because this is largely a behavior deeply rooted in the concept of male privilege.
