Discussion: Kasich: Don't Go To Boozy Parties If You're Worried About Sexual Assault

“And don’t dress like a slut,” he later added.

This cat is supposed to be the “adult” one running on the GOP ticket?

And this is the LEAST crazy guy we might run against in November.

Please continue, Governor.

Coeds. What a f*ing word. That always reminds me of Playboy Magazine, Rush Limbaugh, and Spiro Agnew.

“Kasich responded at length, arguing that schools must provide sexual assault victims with rape kits and confidential consultation.”
Hey, that would go over just GREAT with freshman parents when their daughter is presented with her very own, “Ohio-State-branded RAPE KIT” and “Confidential Consultation Card” upon enrolling along with instructions to NEVER, EVER enter any Frat house on campus (especially on the weekend) and by the way, “don’t dress like a slut”.
and THIS GUY claims to be the MODERATE?!?!?!?

Did Kasich happen to define “alot” with respect to alcohol?
When I was in college we couldn’t!
What a shit head!

“Don’t go to parties where there’s a lot of alcohol.”

…"Keep your legs crossed, always wear underwear and never mistakenly say “Yes” in what passes for innocent conversation… 'Cause the rapists always say “She said ‘Si’.”

Oh, please. Kasich provide a perfectly fine policy response. And then he answered as a parent. Really, some of you are no better than the trolls on right wing sites.

Yeah. I don’t think I have heard female college students called that since, uh, about 1967.

The best policy response is to turn it over to the local police. Unlike the university protecting its reputation and safety stats, the local police are not as biased.

The authors of a recent National Institute of Health study on alcohol and sexual assault noted that “although a woman’s alcohol consumption may place her at increased risk of sexual assault, she is in no way responsible for the assault. The perpetrators are legally and morally responsible for their behavior.”

This will have many in dismay. However, you could assert "A motorcycle user that refuses to wear a helmet is not responsible for their head trauma in the event they're in an accident. The driver of the vehicle that hit them is legally and morally responsible for the injury.”

“alot” is more than he drank at OSU in the 70’s

Ok now…I do not want to defend Kasich BUT when my daughter went to campus walk-throughs when she was looking for a college several of them provided ‘rape kits’ at the tables set up for questions. True story.

My two cents - there is no need to cover Kasich as a candidate whatsoever, since he is mathematically eliminated from securing the nomination. This is not a dig on the press; I do understand he is still a politician, and when he says ridiculous things, they will get coverage. I just feel there should be a “foreword” on each article stating that he was once a candidate for President in the 2016 campaign, but has been eliminated mathematically. The history of previous brokered conventions shows he won’t be winning it there, either. Unless Cruz and Trump have a high noon duel, both striking each other with debilitating shots, Kasich is O-U-T. He’s out!
