Of course you should apologize. It was tone deaf at the very least. That is the problem with Republicans. . . they just don’t realize how sexist and tone deaf they really are. Out of touch is the GOP reality.

A spokesman for Kasich called the criticisms of the comment “desperate politics.”

Desperate about what?

Yay. More non-apology apologies.

“Sorry if your are offended.”

That’s what I find so fascinating and amusing. Kasich performed terribly in SC, probably won’t do well in NV, and there’s little reason to believe he’ll do well on Super Tuesday. Who is desperate to stop him? The Carson Campaign?

Firstly Kasich doesn’t know how to apologize
Secondly he’s tone deaf.
Lastly this will hurt his campaign BECAUSE he acknowledged he was wrong. That’s something somebody like Trump would NEVER do because it’s impossible for him to be wrong. Appearing human is the kiss of death in politics.

Oh how I wish I had patented the “if I have offended anyone” crap apology. I’d be richer than Trump by now.

And speaking of apologies, I thought that he “was taken out of context” earlier today?

Is this the same Governor Kasich who just defunded Planned Parenthood in Ohio? I think there are bigger things to be concerned about this guy than “women-kitchen” comments.

He should have read Madeline Albright’s apology. That was an apology. None of this “I’m sorry if some people took offense” bullshit.

Note to Kasich: "I am sorry for offending…: is quite different than “I’m sorry if I offended…”

Everything. These people have had their hair on fire for 7+ years now. You’d think they’d be out of hair by now, but nope.

And to be fair, I almost want to say he had nothing to apologize for other than stupid word, phrase and concept choice and a habit of rambling a bit too much that lends itself to him saying things that are easily used against him. If you read what he said, it’s really not so bad. It really has to be taken out of context to be that bad.

The problem is, some words, phrases and concepts set off such alarm bells that they take themselves out of context for you all by themselves…like BOOM and all context gets lost in the shadows as that one part of what you said flashes like a neon sign… “Women” and “kitchen” don’t belong in the same sentence during a campaign, ever, and are going to have that neon effect, even if you really are trying to say something innocuous like he was. So, if anything, he owes an apology for bumbling into that, but it really seems to be a situation (this time) in which “that’s not at all what I said or meant” kinda applies.

This is why he’ll never be president. Being Republican means never ever saying you’re sorry. And that includes non-apology apologies, since it might be misconstrued as an apology.

Ask Trump if he’d have apologized and he’ll insult you and your family just for asking, and then have his supporters rough you up on the way out. That’s why he’s winning. Republicans don’t care about policies. They only care about offending liberals, because that’s the last fight they’ve got left. Even their main goal of cutting taxes and shrinking government is only because liberals like taxes and government. It really is that simple.

The Republican faithful believe in Gotterdammerung. They may be going down to defeat, but they will leave nothing but scorched earth behind.

Maybe they’ll cover up their bare feet, and come joyfully with their pregnant selves to support you, since you want to defund Planned Parenthood, and generally stick it to women whenever you can.

Yeah, I can see you getting the women’s vote – because you SO deserve it.

Exactly. The first one actually takes responsibility for the statement. The second one places it on the listener–“Hey if you are unable to understand what I clearly meant and so thin-skinned you managed to get offended, well in that case I guess I’m sorry.”

Oh, really? So he is just a doofus who stumbles occasionally? How about this:

A brief cut & paste:

(CNN)Ohio Gov. John Kasich signed a bill Sunday prohibiting the state from contracting for health services with any organization that performs or promotes abortions, blocking government funds to Planned Parenthood.

Planned Parenthood isn’t explicitly named in the legislation, but the law will prevent more than $1 million in funding from the state health department from going to the nonprofit to fund programs such as HIV testing, health screenings and prevention of violence against women.

He is no innocent nice-guy. He is as bad as the others but less overtly mean.

At one point he opined that the way to control teachers’ unions is to take away their lunchrooms so they will have no place to congregate and gripe. Oh, yes, Mr. “Positive.”

Some things never change for the conservative male of the species. I feel like I’m back in the 1950’s and 60’s again.
