Discussion: Kansas October Tax Revenue Short 15 Percent Of Projections

Discussion for article #229595

His television ads reflect his desperation too.

Even some Republicans have opted to endorse House Minority Leader Paul Davis

More than 500 now. Not good news for asshole Brownback.

Just give Brownback more time…I’d say about 5-10 years in maximum security for criminal incompetence.

What I want to know is why the Democrats aren’t using Kansas to attack the GOP everywhere. They should be saying “look at Kansas! Brownback cut taxes and guess what, it didn’t lead to a massive boom in the economy. They’re wrong about taxes. As has been pointed out, businesses hire only when they need to- and just pocket the taxes that get cut- and they don’t trickle that down into the economy either!”

Okay Davis, use this in a new Ad that plays over and over again, and simply ask the voters if these statistics are good enough for them to reelect Brownback.

Brownback, as a Jackson County Missouri resident, who pays the taxes that built the Royal’s stadium, and pays for it’s upkeep, take that damn Royal’s jersey off. It is not going to help you win.

I love what my party stands for, but I hate how totally horrendous they are at PR.

“It’s the latest example of how the deep tax cuts Brownback vowed to implement, and put in place, have not exactly served as an economic boon to the state.”

They’ve been a spectacular economic boon to Koch Industries in Wichita, so “Mission Accomplished!”

Nothing says “regular guy” like putting a jersey on over your starched pinpoint oxford.

Looking at the Koch building driving west on 21st street near Oliver, it looks like a depressing, imposing, black square monolith. It’s like seeing the Death Star from a distance, honestly.

Geez people! Give it time! I’ve waited 10 years for the Bush tax cuts to trickle down to me and 3 decades for Reagan’s voodoo to work. Be patient!

GOP : We know how to get revenue to rise again - cut taxes!
Dem : Uh, you tried that and revenue tanked.
GOP : We didn’t cut them enough!
Dem : ** sigh **

I gotta say this … Heckuva Job Brownie !

If cutting taxes a bit increases revenue, then eliminating all taxes ought to produce infinite revenue.

Yeah, a Brownback loss here would be satisfying – but once the Dem takes over he won’t be able to get anything done with the TP anarchists running the legislative branch.

Since I don’t see a Dem Guv turning it around, I really would not weep if Brownback gets to remain at the helm with his ridiculous scheme leading to a scenario where his 47% supporters will even begin to question their rationale.

I’ve said similar, plus I’m willing to have KS become a HUGE cautionary tale for the US if he stayed in office.

With apologies to TLQ.

Gotta say I’m not with you guys. I thought W’s destruction of the country would wake people up but it didn’t. And hey, I gotta eat here.

I think Brownback is toast, however. If he thought he was holding on the life preserver, this just pushed him off.

I think he could weather having a dead hooker found in his trunk easier than he can more catastrophic economic news.

He’s like Wile E. Coyote. He ordered that preserver from ACME™, and didn’t notice the box contained an ACME™ anchor.
