I had great pasta too. Rome and Naples are my number 1 and 2 in Italy for food.
But then (sadly), I’ve never been to Sicily and I understand the food is sublime there as well.
O the food in Sicily is sublime. In the summer their standard breakfast is brioche with cream and granita, usually almond granita. It is so delicious. Traditional Sicilian deserts are killer good. Otherwise it’s a lot of seafood and of course it’s always fresh. We’ve been twice now to the Capo market downtown Palermo - it’s the fish and produce market. God that place is fun.
It’s hard to beat Rome though. I do love Cacio e Pepe and you can only get that in Rome.

Mario Batali’s place in the West Village in NY used to do a decent Cacio e Pepe. I used to say I could stop by and eat it at the bar at least once a week.
Haven’t been there in a long time, though. So I’m not sure they still do it well now. Things change, especially in the restaurant business.
But I never had a bad meal in Rome.

Nope we haven’t either.
I don’t know of one restaurant in Dallas that does Cacio e Pepe but I wouldn’t be too quick to try it if one did. It’s hard if it isn’t Rome cause that is their dish. hahaha
