Thank you for putting Uber in the headline instead of just talking about a “taxi driver” and burying Uber five paragraphs down.
I’m not sure why this really makes a difference. I’m not sure whether he was a taxi driver, uber driver or some nutcase just randomly driving around would change anything.

I want to know how this man entered the country from Syria, undetected by Homeland Security or the other various intelligence agencies? Too many Muslim terrorists come and go as they please, why was he let in? Why hasn’t his family been rounded up and shot? And why aren’t Michigan authorities waterboarding him right now?

It certainly makes no difference to the victims. But that is one thing, and being newsworthy is another.
None of this would have happened if we had built a wall around Mexico.

OK. Lets do the background checks a little more exhaustive. Middle aged white guys with lousy jobs get their guns taken away.

Good news for the NRA, the gun is now safe in law enforcement custody, where it can be properly stroked, oiled, and cared for.
More good news for the NRA, this is just another weapon owned by a law abiding citizen. Until it wasn’t.

The police said that this killer had a clean record. But Uber uses its billions to fights real background checks that include fingerprinting everywhere it operates. Why? They just do not to spend the money.
What are you going to do with 100 million guns?
If you’re crazy and want to kill a few people to let off steam I fail to see why you put yourself at risk of jail for doing it. You really just want to watch some people die. Go to a random urban center, observe a few black guys standing around having a beer and a blunt, and call 911 to report you just saw them mug a white woman and rape her in the bushes. Give it a few minutes and several cops will show up, allowing you to watch 3-4-5 guys get killed and you don’t have to dirty your hands doing the deed yourself.

Your post makes no sense. And the last I heard or read Uber is a private company and can determine the best way to screen its potential drivers.
I live in the Bay area and suffered for way too many years with taxi drivers who had little regard for me or my safety as they would barrell down 101 at 100 miles an hour because they didn’t like fares to the Pennisula - not as lucrative as those to the city and wanted to get back to the airport as quickly as possible.
Now when I ask for aan Uber driver see a picture of my driver, I know what kind of car they are driving and I have a phone number. I don’t have to have cash or worrying about how much to tip because it is not allowed. It is less expensive to take Uber X to the airport. Drivers are polite and if anything is left behind an email to Uber and they will connect you with the driver. Once a driver returned my husband’s keys and then took us to the airport for no chargqe. I could recite several other incidents where a driver did the unnecessary but nice thing. Also drivers and passengers rate each other which is an incentive for each party.
The fact that this man was an Uber driver is not relevant to his crime. He also worked I believe for Proggressive Insurance. Maybe TPM needs to have that headline and everyone can drop their policy because he may have been the adjuster on your claim
I find this headline very disingenous on the part of TPM and I have noticed an increasing number of irrelevant posts lately. Just yesterday all I saw was picture after picture of Donald Trump and and a separate story on various comments he has made. I come to TPM for indepth analysis of political issues. I don’t come here to see TPM make an irrelevant fact THE POLITCAL issue.
