The nfl players union is a sad joke. The only leagues with effective unions are the nba and mlb.
It proves how disgusting NFL management is. They no more wanted this to go to trial and would have paid almost anything. A trial would have exposed racist owners and collusion. The NFL tried, some successfully, to give second chances to drug addicts (some two and three times), PED abusers (some two and three times), Wife/girlfriend beaters (some two or three times), and felons but they hold the line at upsetting the NASCAR crowd by permitting a player for standing up for civil rights! What a fân joke the league is. Mostly Goodell. They are all fân gaggy.
