Excellent team choice.

Let the games begin.

In this rarefied air, you only get one bite of the apple. If these guys can’t nail Trump this time, it’ll be a hundred years before we fully get over this administration.

Pfhew, I feel better already…until tRump meets with Putin later this morning, that is. If only we had the ability to know how tRump plans to sell out the country in that meeting this morning…

Lots of organized crime experts and white collar crimes specialists on that list. Clearly, they have their work cut out for them, but you can tell from their resumes they’ll be looking in all the right places and have a direction to their inquiry. They have a lot to work with. I don’t see this investigation having any difficulty making a comprehensive case against tRump. I await the announcement of the indictments…which sadly will probably come much later, even while tRump continues to do so much damage to the country in the meantime. What the GOP in Congress will do with those charges, will be a most difficult matter…since they are likely to balk from a stance of pure partisanship, reflexively…and that’ll be the biggest disappointment in all this. That’s the pity.

What we already know, just from the reporting in the press, is that there are already so many of tRump’s history of transactions with various individuals and close associates that have numerous shady connections, with so much to hide…and which there’s evidence he’s attempted to do all along.

I hope they nail the bastard, and his little dog too.

Slightly OT but funny…

Apparently Pence has a reading problem too:

And commentary from @RoguePOTUSStaff:

RepIy to srfromgr: I agree they have a long road to travel but time also works against Trump and the GOP personally and in regards to their agenda. Stripping Trump of his loyal minions especially Flynn, Sessions and Kushner will push him over the edge with rage. GOP support will waver as he becomes more and more demanding and erratic. The tipping point for Trump will be the acquisition of his income tax records.

Curious what everyone is talking about at the G20?

Please don’t forget he’s the guy who gets to collect the “jacket” in this administration.

Also note to steely-eyed stare.

Guess that’s his idea of “presidential”, eh?

Oh, big-game hunter Drumpfie, scouting for scapegoats and distractions this morning, I see.

Ever since I read Zainab Ahmad was joining, I’ve had this weird idea that she’s the one who’s really going to get under Donald’s skin and make him do something stupid. Just the existence of a Muslim-American of Pakistani descent brings back shades of Judge Curiel. And on top of that, she’s a powerful, intelligent, gorgeous woman.

I’m sure it’s naive of me, but she seems like the one likeliest to be the Tom Cruise to his Colonel Jessup.

God willing, these people will someday be thought of the way The Untouchables are.

The powerhouse team of lawyers assigned to the multi-pronged federal investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election has metastasized to include 15 members.

A minor quibble with Allegra's word choice. "metastasized" very often causes the reader a degree of discomfort, as it so often is used to describe the spread of a malignant cancer to parts of the body, often resulting in untreatable tumors and eventually death. Yes, the dictionary is not limited to that definition, and a group of anything growing from 3 to 7 to 10 to 20 has metastasized.

Yet, doesn't "The powerhouse team of lawyers assigned to the multi-pronged federal investigation into Russia’s interference in the 2016 election has ***expanded*** to include 15 members" convey the same information, albeit with (in the eyes of some readers) a less sinister or ominous connotation?

“Get yer programs, get yer programs here! Can’t tell the players without a program!”

I’m rooting for this team. I love a good offense.

A great piece, but as noted, the use of metastacized is insensitive at best, and also not the image I believe was intended.

Trump could just meet with Putin and decide that he is more angry. Then take actions to fire the guy. His followers and Congress would support it. It would look horrible but not sure Trump would care.

It is not quite that straight forward but still very possible.

I just hope they get to the bottom of all this and the public sees and hears the facts and that justice is served to those who committed any crimes or acts of treason against our nation.

If we can’t trust our voting system and political system, then our Democracy will fail and none of us wants that.

I think he developed the stare (empty as it is) to confuse people into thinking that he’s thinking.
(I really don’t want to know what rattles around in his empty cranium)

Goes a long way to explaining why he can’t be alone in a room with a woman, doesn’t it?

Here’s hoping for the involvement of the GOP in accepting intelligence, money and strategy from Russia to come to light along with the long history of criminal activity of Putin’s Punkee. There is no way the “Whatever it takes.” mob would let treason stand between them and hacking the Supreme Court.
