Justice Ginsburg Has Surgery To Remove Cancerous Growth.

In 2020 – if not sooner – America’s gonna remove a cancerous growth, too.

She’s great and all but she should have fucking retired in 2014. What was she thinking

I hope you are right, but lung cancer does not have a good prognosis. She hound have retired years ago. In fact a mandatory retirement age of 75 or 80 should be instantiated for ALL judicial appointments. Lifetime appointments to the court are unnecessary and serve no one.

And what do you think McConnell would have done then? He and the republicans would have failed to confirm Every. Single. Nominee Obama put forward.

No. It’s good she stayed on.

My dad had lung cancer when he was 81 years old. He had the growth removed and was cancer free after that. He died of congestive heart failure at age 84 because of a heart attack he had about ten years prior to the cancer because it destroyed a portion of heart function permanently. Had he not been a smoker up until the day he died, he might’ve lived until his 90’s like his sister. Lung cancer is survivable.

All this does is remind me of how much a coward Kennedy is

How would McConnell have blocked a SCOTUS replacement when he was minority leader in 2014?

Lifetime appointments to the court are unnecessary and serve no one.

They serve the egos of the SCOTUS justices who think they are god’s gift to the court and the nation!

Oh, right. Still, she didn’t want to retire, and I’m glad she’s still there.

Also, hindsight is 20/20. Obama should have gotten his nominee. Who could have predicted McConnell would end up preventing that? Not me and not you.

We are either at the nadir of this Presidency or this represents the true beginning of the end for the Republic…

Short of a tactical nuclear exchange outside of Aleppo, this development might be the most deflating news I have heard in weeks…

So far, two un-democratically selected Presidents have appointed 4 SCOTUS justices. The last 2 were confirmed by a Senate majority from states representing 18% of the population.

All wealthy white men. And they all have lifetime appointments!

If RGB goes, that will be number 5.

If we had democratic elections and a representative Senate, there would be 8 justices on the SCOTUS appointed by Democratic Presidents, instead of just the current 4.

Isn’t our Constitution the best? It sure is for wealthy white men.

No democracy, no justice.

I wouldn’t count her out. She can take a punch. Or two. Or three. Tough as nails…

A late fixed retirement might work. The fear is that Justices would trim their opinions so they could join the gravy train once they retired. Of course, they could retire early. But very few do.
