Discussion for article #243444

Any judge with a respect for the Constitution will immediately rule in favor of the feds. Seriously. I know, I know …

On what grounds are they refusing the Syrians? I’ve heard nothing other than “NO.”
If the feds were requiring the Texans to fund them, then they may have an argument, but so far, nothing other than the normal Texas Republican BS. I have a solution … since Texas doesn’t want to be part of the USA, simply cut all federal funding to the state and see how long they last.

Waiving any restrictions or impediments to Texas seccession works for me.

Wow, I’d love to see Texas Rangers, ordered out by that numbskull of a governor, confront Federal Marshalls face-to-face in a showdown. Reminds me of G. Wallace on the steps defying the Feds. We all know how that ended!

My biggest worry is that the identities of these refugees will be ‘accidentally’ leaked by the governors office to the public, making lives for these families terrible. Better than Syria, unless one of our local open carry nutjobs shows up on their door. I am actually concerned for their safety.

I guess their "thoughts and prayers ", henceforth known as TP because that’s about all its good for, doesn’t extend to Syrian refugees. Their hearts aren’t open enough to allow for people with different cultural or religious beliefs.

The issue of secession was settled definitively in 1865.
