I’d agree with you if this was a normal timeline. However this is a timeline where dissimilar s–t (ok, Whataboutism) is seen as the same thing and unfortunately a pivotal number of these mutts elected one of their own to represent them.

Bullshit. I wouldn’t be willing to trade places with any black/gay man or woman. I don’t think I would be strong enough to deal with the ugliness and crap that they deal with everyday.
Jussie’s actions did them no favors. If anything, things could get worse for them now.

I will never apologize, or be embarrassed or have egg on my face or whatever, for believing someone when they claim to have been victimized. There are far more victims of hate crimes and assaults in this country who aren’t believed, who never get justice, than the few ridiculous assholes like this one who make shit up. What angers me is that so many people will question the next person no matter how credible the claims may be. It’s the same with rape victims. One person who comes forward lying makes people question other victims more closely, but it doesn’t change the fact that it happens to so many.

If you’re from Chicago, part of it was the location and the time. If you’re looking to beat up people of color in the city, yes you can find plenty in that location, but you’re more as likely to run into a rich white person. It would have made more sense if it happened on the South or West side near a ramp to the freeway
Also, it happened at 2 in the morning on one of the coldest days of the year. Nobody wants to be outside randomly cruising for victims when it’s near 0, you’d wait for a warmer day.

When I encounter a steaming pile of dog shit on the sidewalk, I don’t need to “address” it. My capacity to think swiftly brings me to the conclusion that my time would be better spent pointing out the hazard to others than contemplating its composition or origin. With respect to your posts, the analogy is apt and pursues the same logic.

Please note: I didn’t tell you that your post is a steaming pile of dog shit. I actually suggested that your posts (note the plural) had the same value here as the dog shit has in the analogy. But if you want to posit that they are in fact literary shit, then I won’t argue with you.
Please further note that I wasn’t addressing your posts. There’s a difference between addressing and observing. A trip to any standard dictionary will elucidate that for you.

Everything about this story seems tragic to me. It was so utterly unnecessary, and there really are no winners (except, perhaps, the police, who appear to have figured out what actually happened).

This is not a well thought out proclamation on my part…but I find trying to use media as such double-edged weapon. When I grew up, fame was really the only way to get a wide audience. If you were dreaming of fame and being looked up to, or heard, or able to influence millions it was because you were a movie star or famous athlete or rockstar/musician.
Now we have people sucking around for likes on YouTube channels and social media “influencers” and even down to trying to be famous for school shootings and these twisted faked attacks. This guy was already famous. But all of them are trying to use the media…something very wild and out of their control. It just lures them, calls to them. Burns them. We look at how something like the Salem witch hunt went down…with no telephone, telegraph, radio, tv, or internet. If people can get all whipped up in an isolated village, we humans are not equipped to deal with media’s potency. In any aspects of our lives. You can point and accuse and it is global. Immediately. You can shame and humiliate people on a nationwide scale at 4:30 PM and the victim finds out when they get home at 5…that their life is over. Strange Times.

This is similar to that couple who conspired with a “homeless” man to help him and raise about $400,000 on GoFundMe. It was all fake. This smelled fishy from the beginning. The idiot Smollett is now facing felony charges. A career destroyed over something this stupid.
I still can’t figure what that irrelevant actor might’ve possibly hoped to gain.
Stories like this do seem to bring the trolls and the MAGAts out for a little spin… no surprise, actually.
