It’s just ego and the will to dominate run amok. The acquisition of money and power have become ends in themselves, severed from any rational use you could put them to. Trump isn’t the only CEO out there who thinks he’s a universal genius who has nothing to learn about anything.
A factor I do not get.
Amen
As a relatively old white guy, I can’t believe these other, relatively old white guys aren’t thrilled to let other people take the reins and begin the road to becoming vilified cliches.
Shorter Julian Castro:
Shorter still: one lightweight scolding another lightweight.
Exactly, and this guy is in a class of people for whom nationality is no longer a concern. Without that, there’s no patriotism, and it’s all she wrote.
Back in the 80s there was a slogan “The one who dies with all the toys, wins.”
The Presidency is just another toy to these people.
Which is why I do not like Bernie as the same way I did not like Nader. If they were reasonable, thinking people, they would realize what they are likely to do and withdraw. Stein should be a serious lesson for them just in appearances alone.
Ok, that was dead on.
The presidency is a vanity move for them. That is how I felt with Trump’s run. He had zero track record in working for the people. Yet up he pops.
Exactly. Which means there are other factors involved.
(Cough…Jill Stein…dinner with Putin…cough)
Don’t move on to ego’s and vanity when the obvious answer is Republicans paying for a bogus 3rd party candidate. They don’t miss an opportunity to do this, even in state legislator races. They file trumped up petitions to get a vote-splitter on the ballot. Sometimes without that person’s permission. If this Starbucks guy is serious, then possibly his ego/vanity is behind this. You can expect the Chumpists in in the R party (which just declared him Dear Leader at the RNC and forbade any challengers) to go rabidly after any R challenger…and be doing whatever they can behind the scenes to get an Ind. (Dlite) or Green party candidate all the traction they can give.
“I’m running for president because it’s time for new leadership. Because it’s time for new energy.”
Not exactly hope and change but also nothing about greatness.
I seriously doubt that he could win election to be a King County (Seattle) Supervisor.
Schultz won’t siphon off many votes but why even try?
100% cliché though. Points for that.
I’d say it’s ego and vanity and he thinks he’s hot stuff but we’ve just been informed that’s naive. So I’ll just read and learn.
You want to see energy, experience, and smarts? Just look at Nancy Pelosi, and she’s just getting started! Dems were able to get the renewal of the Violence Against Women Act in the legislation to reopen government.
Awesome.
Fuck off Schultz. Run for the Dem nomination or stay the fuck home. That goes for whatever imbecile friend of Susan Sarandon is considering running for the Green Party. And Bernie, give up the ghost. You proved you don’t know how to handle a campaign last time around when you put a bunch of sexual predators in charge and turned a blind eye.
I’m going to concentrate on Senator Harris from now on.
I’m not ready to jump in yet. It’s still too early, but she’s definitely gotten off to a good start.
Howard, shut the fuck up, sit the fuck down, slurp down one of your overpriced, foo-foo coffee drinks, and instead of running for president, go have some giggles fucking over some hapless corporation somewhere.
I am definitely watching her town hall tomorrow night on CNN
