I know many folks wanted him to run. He probably already knew he was but wanted to get in before Beto does,if he does.

This makes me happy and I hope he can navigate a successful run. As it stands now, he gets my vote.

Well , at least he made the announcement when the media isn’t distracted by anything else it considers important.
I like him and want to hear what he has to say but, I think the media will short change him when it comes to attention.
I guess it’s a good thing that Rep. Ocasio is six years too young or she would be announcing. I can just hear it, " From Metropolitan Oval to Pennsylvania Ave."
If elected, every time he gives a speech or a press conference, the question will be “Is it him or Joaquin?”
They have pulled that once or twice for the grins I understand. I can say from direct observation, you can see the differences, more in disposition but it can be tough.
