Does he think meeting, THEN not holding hearings, shows him to be approaching this in a … Ahem…fair and balanced manner? If you’re not holding the hearings, why meet with him? To explain to him that the people that elected Obama in '12 aren’t worth a damn, and that he’s waiting until the people speak in the correct fashion?

The Des Moines Register ripped Grassley a new one on Monday for his intransigence over the Garland nomination. That’s why he’s agreeing to meet now.

Donald Blankenship, whose leadership of Massey Energy Company transformed him into one of the wealthiest and most influential men in Appalachia, was sentenced on Wednesday to a year in prison for conspiring to violate federal mine safety standards.
He was also fined $250,000. A modest sum, unfortunately.

Yes, he does think that meeting will lower if not take the heat off him. Yet tactically for him it’s a mistake and a small win for us.
What are the odds that Grassly is already drunk when Garland shows up?
Any bets he will pull a Sen. John Boozman and refuse to answer questions or have any photos of the event, while doubling down on his saying he will never let the nominee get a hearing and an up or down vote?
