Discussion: Judge Upholds Mueller's Authority To Prosecute Manafort For Ukraine Dealings

I’d hate to be standing next to Manafort right now … that odor rising from his pants would be nauseating.

Damn that Comey, he was already way ahead of the curve when Spanky fired him.

The judge is probably a Mexican or a lady or something. No respect for Mopey Manafort. Sad!

What about judge TS Ellis and his tantrum from a week or so ago - this ruling at all related or going to be an influence on him?

Yeah, was just wondering the same thing!

Mr. Manafort,
I just wanted to inform you that you can find great bargains at Amazon on harmonicas to play and tin cups to bang against the metal bars in prison.
And I suggest you learn the words to “Nobody Knows the Trouble I’ve Seen”. Oh, and Grecian Formula is not available in the shower room, but pleasant company abounds!

IANAL but the ruling as best I can tell seems pretty destructive to Manafort across a broad swath of his snivelage.

Awesome.

Perfectly awesome. Another validation for the Mueller Russian investigation.

A reading from the Book of Mueller: “And Paul wept.”

Amen.

Once again: “Mueller has successfully prosecuted far, FAR more intelligent mobsters than YOU Manafort.”

Are you listening Donald?

The doggedness and professionalism of Mueller is reassuring.

All of you other soon-to-be-indicteds should be paying attention.

Because this applies to you, too.

Manafort may either want to (1) work on his singing voice, (2) start building up his resistance to Polonium or nerve agent, or (3) prepare for a long stay in the gray bar motel.

This is a nice dose of schadenfreude to go with my North Korea schadenfreude hahaha

Hard to keep track for a non lawyer like me, but the courts are in different jurisdictions, so one would not on it’s face effect the other.

But I could be wrong…

So when is the trial again? Not sure if it’s approaching or if there is still time for his legal team to push their delay tactics into another dimension.

I sure hope something comes out of this. We’ve waited a long time for the denouement of this mystery and I absolutely hope it is satisfying, along with being the first of many to come.

BTW, anyone heard anything out of Michael Flynn’s team lately?

They are different charges in VA and DC, so the issue is ostensibly different and res judicata/collateral estoppel would therefore not apply.

So much for last week’s theory that the Judge was starting to go after Mueller.

So, just to keep track, does this have anything to do with the case where the Reagan appointed Judge peppered Mueller’s team with tough questions two weeks ago, or are those separate cases?
