Trump pardoned Arpaio’s contempt to send a message. He has made abundantly clear that his administration and cronies are free to ignore whatever the courts say that they don’t like…and that they will do so.
Damn, the judge really took Kobach to the woodshed there, and deservedly so. In spite of the SC, there are still judges who believe in the rule of law and continue to fight for the rights of the people…it’s about all we have until people get out and vote the corruption out of government.

The comment threads are nonfunctioning on both of the breaking stories - Kennedy’s retirement and the failure of the immigration bill. I love the smart commenters here, but TPM is in this situation way too often. A political/news site has to be able to cope with sudden announcements - and has to provide its readers with the opportunity to participate at such times.
