Discussion: Judge Tosses George Zimmerna's Libel Suit Against NBC

Discussion for article #224510

NBC is a corporate citizen with unalienable rights to call a murderer a murderer. But since it was a fact anyways, there wasn’t ever really a case.

Zimmerman’s career arc is not going to end well.

I just hope it bankrupted Zimmerman in the process fighting for this lost cause. How much does he owe his lawyers now? Hopefully his grifting ends with this last charade.

Probably nothing beyond what he already owes (or owed) for his criminal defense. The attorneys for the libel suit would have taken it on a contingency basis.

He is going to end up dead somewhere. Wearing a goatee and cargo shorts.

I wonder if Travon’s family will sue this sucker in civil court?

Now what is he going to do. He’s broke, and no one will hire the stupid, psycho, hot head.
He will have go on welfare.

I think in a civil case like this, the lawyers work for a percentage of the damages, and nothing else, no?

So, I doubt he’s out anything, except his time, energy, and ego.

Good riddance to bad rubbish. I hope we won’t have to look at his ugly face again.

I recall right wingers insisting that Zimmerman had an open-and-shut case against NBC. Here’s one, grabbed at random, from a particularly arrogant toad named Tom Roff:

"GZ has already won this. And he will soon be a very rich man. NBC will settle for 50M or more. Then come the book deals – and movie deals… and then the biggie – he gets to sue FL for charging him in the 1st place/ FL’s SYG law allows civil suits for cases exactly like this. FL will even have to cover ALL his legal expenses from day 1.

Sooooooooooooo SO SWEET!!"

The only sweet thing here is the schadenfreude.

I believe it was the Robert’s court that said corporations are people too. Thus, NBC, a corporation does have an unalienable right to call a murderer a murderer.

Well then, sucks to be them I guess. Wasted billable hours for this low-life if that’s true.

Now PLEASE go the fuck away??!??!

You’re insane if you keep putting yourself on TeeVee, and simultaneously complaining that you’re not safe from retribution.

Just STFU and live your ignorant, selfish, petty life, will you?

I want to live long enough to see this pathetic loser get his.

You would think this mall cop Rambo would have sought to disappear from the public eye after getting away with murder, but instead sought out publicity in order to profit from his crime. I put Zimmerman in the same league as Dick Cheney, both are heartless, soulless bastards without a conscience, more than willing to profit from deaths they are responsible for.

Another failure by George Zimmerman. We’ll add this to the pile, next to “failed at Neighbourhood Watch”, “failed to not kill an unarmed teenage boy”, and “failed at being a human being”.

Hopefully he doesn’t have a current girlfriend to beat on due to this.

Champagne corks must be popping over at Fox. If airing edited tapes was grounds for a lawsuit, Fox would be buried in court cases. Obama could sue them for at least 3 occasions of editing and Jimmy Hoffa Jr. for the editing his Labor Day speech.
