Would that somehow ALL of the Trump attempts to block production of witnesses and documents to Congress could be consolidated into one hearing. It is all the same issue: Does Congress have clear authority to make such requests. Note too that the committees are now spelling out just WHY they need those documents…a blow to Trump attempts to claim it is all just political and not for a legitimate purpose. Pay attention Mnuchin…they are aimed at YOU and the IRS as well.

I just wish the judge had ordered Mazar’s to turn over the documents to the court pending a decision. Mazar’s would have gladly complied, because it would mean an end to their legal fees – once the judge has the documents, Mazars could petition to be removed from the case entirely.
Because it seems to me that the judge understands this is just a delaying tactic, and if the judge had the documents, they could be immediately convey to the house BEFORE any appeal had been filed.

Trump’s claim is that pretextual reasons are insufficient. Legally, its a highly dubious claim. But for PR purposes, its perfect.
