Upon hearing the news Christie responded, “I’ll have three deep-dish combinations.”

It’s possible that Gibson Dunn shredded or disposed of this material, but that would seem to violate the [document retention] terms of their multi-million dollar deal with the New Jersey Attorney General’s office

Expect Christie’s team to selectively “forgive” this particular non-compliance incident.

Do I hear a large claim of “executive privilege” coming up?

Maybe – But I don’t think that would be supported by the terms of the retention agreement –

> Stay tuned.

And ‘Stay Tuned,’ we will. Thank you, Brian Murphy for your great reporting on the (slowly) unfolding story.

Well this is turning into a Charlie Foxtrot for GOV Bridgegate. Can’t wait to see what happens in 45 days.

"But in a June 8 letter to the judge, Randy Mastro insisted that it was a “matter of public record” that his firm did not “transcribe or record our interviews” with members of Christie’s staff. None of the documents being sought by Critchley, Mastro insisted in that letter, “ever existed.”

So…a large corporate law firm doing a 300 page report for the Governor’s office is going to interview everyone involved and not take any notes? Uh huh.

Of course he has to say that. Otherwise he hast to turn over the notes or admit that the law firm destroyed the notes once the report was written. Neither of those are good options for the law firm.

That they would interview everyone, take no notes and just type up an ‘interview memo’ strains credulity.

Dog ate them?
CIA destroyed them?
Andy Cuomo sent them to Danamora and they escaped?
They are buried in the parking lot at Giant Stadium?

Rolled up in a pole on the stage at the Bada Bing is my guess?

Looks like he may take a law firm and lawyers with him. Lying to a judge is a big no-no in the profession.

This was all inevitable. Taxpayers paid for a report that “exonerated” the governor and Mastro had no idea that someone (indicted co-conspirator) would want to see the all evidence?

Is this thing really going to trial? The only way out for Baroni and Kelly would be to name names. I don’t see that happening at this point.

Also, the judge gave Bill Baroni his passport back so he could go on a vacation to Ireland with his family. Does that happen to all indicted felons who are able to make bail?

Just once I would like to see political corruption scheme adjudicated in real time with the speed of a poorly trained bully police officer. Maybe that would be a deterrent for a year or so.

Notes? What notes?

Chris Christie’s biggest endorsement for his announced candidacy for the White House - Maine’s Teapublican Governor Paul Lepage.

The only Governor in the US with a lower approval rating than Lepage is Chris Christie.

Could they both have a future together? As cell mates!

One thing I learned while watching Watergate unfold on TV is that destroying evidence, material that is under subpoena is very serious crime.

Christie is cornered like a rat. His only choices are hand the stuff over, or commit a felony.
This is going to very interesting to watch.

We all know lawyers don’t take notes or record or videotape depositions!

Only in N.J. - what notes? What contract with the state that requires depositions be documented and retained?

Chris Christie…what, our state has laws that the Governor must follow. Amazing.
