Discussion: Judge Tells US Officials, ACLU To Come Up With Asylum Plan

An asylum?

For Donnie?

The Trump Bedlam?

would go against the public’s interest and deprive the minors of their right to seek asylum.

Which is exactly what the Turmeric Tyrant wants.

Between the lines: I don’t trust that the Fed Government will come up with an effective plan, and turn to the ACLU to do so - and then come to an agreement - based on the ACLU plan.

Not a lawyer - but that is how I read this.

Will this force the Trump administration’s hand on their plan for the children left behind? Were they planning on doing a reverse Orphan Babylift?

I read it the same way. The administration is violating the Constitution, the GOP controlled Congress doesn’t care and is incapable of governing anyway, so let’s put the unelected representatives of the aggrieved parties in control of fashioning the remedy. That is a monumental put down of the GOP, alleged party of the Constitution and the rule of law.

hoping the judge throws the “responsible” parties into prison when they are not able to assist the ACLU.

will the aggrieved parents who have been paying the ACLU attorneys be reimbursed?
will contributions to the ACLU now be tax deductible?
will the gubmnt give the ACLU the phone numbers they have been withholding?

is this a new tax, is this garnisheeing of the ACLU’s services?

throw the bums in the jug and let the ACLU get the kids back into their families.

That has crossed my mind more than a number of times. Not that this was the ultimate goal, I do think the goal was to create maximum cruelty as a ‘deterent.’ But when concerns were raised about this issue - I think there was indifference which may have shrugged and landed on a mass adoption scheme as an easy out.

Regardless original intent - the reality is heinous.

meanwhile, does anyone know what is happening at the border right now to people showing up? I can only assume there are still people arriving and asking for asylum? Or are they just being turned away?

When America was Great, we would never allow such to happen. Now we are not so great.

Couldn’t happen to a better bunch of useless mooks (the GOP, that is).

So I just saw this from Think Progress and Buzz Feed. Sessions is not content with dealing with immigration cases already on hand he has now declared that immigration judges have re-open old cases that had been closed.
Still no word on gang deportations.

Interesting that there is no plan to re-unite the children with their parents, at least no plan the government has or had.

Looks as if they would have many many young people on their hands, young people with no country to call home. So, I guess they (the advisors) figured that when they turn 18, what the heck - we’ll just deport them too, for being in the country illegally.

An asylum for Donnie? Send him to the Hague forthwith!

Why the hell is the ACLU being tasked to fix the mess that Trump made? Is the federal government is incapable?

With a Republican majority? Yes.

Why in the hell should the ACLU come up with a plan? This is Donnie and the acquiescent GOP who created this mess and nobody else should be required to help them extract them from it.

Will the ACLU be given access to the 90 million recently freed up? /s

Whether or not they’re incapable is moot. They are unwilling.
