Judge Says Opening Second Dodge City Poll Site Would Create ‘Confusion’ … AND might negatively affect the chances of Kris Kobac

Therefore we cannot do it.

Well, it’s true. Giving people more opportunities to vote does create confusion. Having more people vote creates confusion. Democracy creates confusion. That’s just how it is.

Cox’s attorney, Bradley Schlozman—where have I heard that name before? Oh yes—Bush’s henchman during the mass firing of US attorneys.

“No. It’s Michael”

what possible confusion could there be? Absurd.

They are, of course, creating the perfectly staged film clip of “Democrats busing in illegals to vote” that will run on an endless loop from now until eternity. The Fox “News” film crews will wet themselves as the buses filled with Hispanic voters from Dodge City pull up to the polling place in the middle of nowhere…

Apparently having the only polling place be outside of the city wasn’t confusing for everyone.

I know the name of the town is Dodge City but come on!

I hope someone with money would hire a fleet of buses and bus every single voter from Dodge City to the new polling place two miles outside the city limits. Talk about obvious voter suppression!!!

So there has to be some sort of Republican directory of willing and able Republican lawyers, with a track record of “by any means necessary” that a lowly county election official and consult, right?

Lemme guess, that city bus to the polling station will run twice a day.

Let me fathom a wild guess: The judge is a white male Republican. The US is a fake Democracy…voting rights take a back seat to GUNS. What a joke.

That LOL should really be good for a criminal referral.

On Maddow’s Show the ‘bus’ was a van - and passengers had to schedule an appointment to get a ride to the voting site.

All over the map there seems to be an underlying precedent being set that people can be legally excluded from the polls for all sorts of petty bureaucratic reasons (changed address from id, or no address, middle initial instead spelled out name, “signatures don’t match”, removing early voting hours and stations, removing or limiting election day polling stations and machines, requiring difficult to acquire or expensive documents, common name shared with convicted felon somewhere, still on the rolls with former residence in another state, postcard challenges/caging, and so on and so on).

It’s nothing more than a newer, “more subtle” iteration of Jim Crow laws - pretending that legally certain people have the right to vote, but that they just aren’t willing to go to the trouble to actually do it. Sympathetic judges just grab that fig leaf to pretend they’re not naked.

Well there you go. I hope the Democratic party has a fleet of free Ubers and plain ol’ rides for those non-connected folk lined up at the usual polling location and are blanketing the city with offers of free transport. Even so, the fear of getting stuck in line out there is going suppress a lot of potential voters, and that, of course, is the point.

And unfortunately, with the moron (and McConnell’s) unprecedented ramming through of judges, we can expect more of this in the future. Whoever’s running in 2020 better pledge to add two additional SC judges.
