Discussion: Judge Orders Monitor For Immigrant Child Shelters After Reported Abuses

Since then, a team of about 100 lawyers interviewed more than 200 migrant children and their parents, and submitted to the court reams of testimony describing physical and verbal assault, lack of food and water, sleep deprivation, and dangerously unsanitary conditions. The detainees described being kicked in their sleep, forced to drink toilet water, fed frozen and rotten food, denied medical treatment, and pushed to sign documents they could not read or understand.

This is not Stalin’s Russia, but Trump’s America. Actually, I don’t know if Stalin did this to little children. When do we start calling it the “Trump gulags”?

And Republicans do not see high crimes and misdemeanors.
Those people need to go. I wish them the same fate they’re subjecting these innocents.
America what went wrong?

It will be nice when we are able to replace the horrible people that are instituting these abuses with real humans that have the capacity to feel shame.

About f’ing time. I’d also like to see a judge demand all employment records of staff as I see this setup ripe for abusers, noone has any knowledge if any staff was screened.

I’ve said this elsewhere but of all the heinous things this administration continues to do, this abuse of innocents -both children and adults- is the worst. Our government kidnapped children and deported their parents. They are housed in deplorable conditions.

Congress abdicates it’s oversight responsibility. This is shameful, no President nor his/her administration should be allowed to get away with this. Sessions, Miller, Nielsen, Kelly, the head of ICE and B.P. should never ever be allowed to hold a position in government. And Trump spends the weekend golfing in N.J. while his administration continues these human rights violations. He is a hateful person. Hell is too good for him.

Why isn’t someone held accountable? Clearly the law has been broken.

independent monitor to force the Trump administration to comply with the minimum safety standards for immigration detention facilities that hold children.

This is where we are, folks.

After they lose all of their money and influence and have to live a decade as poor, ostracized traitors.

I wonder how many children Mar-A-Lago, Trump DC International Hotel, and then maybe those NJ properties can hold?

The concept of not having to watch something that doesn’t exist may
be too fundamental … jeebus —

Justice Department attorney Sarah Fabian argued unsuccessfully that such a monitor is not necessary, and asked the judge to hold off until the Trump administration can investigate the alleged abuses and rebut them.

Go to hell. The GOP can’t be trusted to defend children from pedophiles.

It’s that faux moralist Scott Lloyd that has to go, and who should be known forever as an enabler of pedophiles and child abuse.

He, by the way, is another of those woman-hating crusading white Catholic males who get hard-ons when they read about the Inquisition.

As many he needs to use in forced labor.
They do not have to be paid.

The New York Times editorial board has called Lloyd an antiabortion “crusader.” The liberal Washington Post opinion columnist Ruth Marcus labeled him an “antiabortion zealot.”

But Janet Morana, author of “Recall Abortion: Ending the Abortion Industry’s Exploitation of Women,” dismissed the criticism of Lloyd, writing on Twitter that “those who value human life will see a stand-up guy.”

Nope.
