Discussion: Judge Insists On More Info From Mueller To Assess Roger Stone's Leak Claims

She’s moving very carefully on Stone. Dotting every “i” and crossing every “t.”

I highly doubt Mueller’s team would have done anything wrong, but if they did -this, this would be a process violation, nothing more, and with no bearing on the underlying case.

I think the fact that it’s like pulling teeth to get information out of the special counsel investigation rather than having things leak out left and right is on balance a positive.

One effect it has is that since no one is used to anyone so tight-lipped, the whole country starts spinning up little tornados of rumor out of frustration, or habit. Dammit, if you won’t leak by god we’ll make things up.

Meanwhile, Mueller, that old man, Mueller, he must know something, but he don’t say nothing, he just keeps rolling, he keeps on rolling along.

So that when she ultimately jails him, his worldview will be completely tarnished and debased by the truth and his own immoral actions.

And the people looking to discredit Muller’s work will not be bothered with anything even slightly resembling accuracy, so they are going to attack it with any mud they can dream up. Thus, whether or not there is some minor process error will have no effect on their actions (even if they do incorporate and exaggerate any little problem beyond recognition).

Thank you for the Porgy & Bess Old Man River thing. Good Times.

I hope she doesn’t go overboard with this sort of stuff. Stone is playing her with the “fix is in” nonsense and the danger is that she will do the same thing that the judge did the Oregon Bundy trial: be too hard on the prosecutors and too lenient towards the defense with the result that the bastards get off. She’s already cut Stone more slack than he deserves. He should be in jail.

Taters? What’s Taters, Precious?

I think that if Mueller’s team can show her that there is no way that any news outlets could have learn ahead of time of the arrest, then Stone is toast. If someone at Stone’s office jumped the gun a fraction too early, it will give her an excuse to harangue the prosecution which will eliminate any argument of bias by Stone and his supporters. Then we can watch him twist in the wind before he sinks like a stone in the abyss of his own making.

Showboat actually. And you’re welcome.

I’ve got news for Judge Jackson: once someone has been hauled off in the wee hours of the morning by FBI agents, the existence of the underlying indictment is no longer a secret.

I’m sorta liking Judge Collins from NC:

A judge in North Carolina on Friday tossed out the state’s constitutional amendment requiring a voter ID, citing prevalent gerrymandering in the state’s General Assembly.

Wake County Superior Court Judge G. Bryan Collins wrote in a ruling late Friday afternoon that the North Carolina General Assembly is so gerrymandered that its members do not truly represent the state’s residents and thus should never have proposed a voter ID amendment in the first place.

“An illegally constituted General Assembly does not represent the people of North Carolina and is therefore not empowered to pass legislation that would amend the state’s constitution,” Collins wrote.

Collins also tossed out a second Republican-backed amendment implementing a cap on the state’s income tax.

That’s the goal of working the refs. Discredit impartial officers in the hopes that they’ll overcompensate to your benefit in their attempts to defend and prove their impartiality. If you’re really lucky, they’ll continue to bend the rules for you in a vain attempt to get you to withdraw your attacks.

No. She’s just being a federal judge. Most of them are very exacting.

You know we’re screwed as a nation when the media and court judges give more air time and credibility to the white nationalist conspiracy slingers like Trump, Giuliani, and Roger Stone than they do to those who follow the laws and defend the constitution!

The judge is looking like a complete tool at the hands of Roger Stone…heck, Stone barely gets a slap on the rest for tweets with gun scopes threatening the judge! Is the judge scared or spineless?
