He doesn’t really have the “stupid” excuse either (His JD is from Yale). He’s just that arrogant.

Doing the ♫Schadenfreude Boogie♫…

I would be seriously happy should this carpetbagger asswipe spend a few months in the"House of Many Doors".

It was the woman (young with 2 children) who was sucked out the window. those windows are small. Can you imagine? I fear of every having to witness something horrible like that. All those passengers have been traumatized.

I have been told by several folks who should know that this is Southwest’s second fatality. The first happened at Midway Airport in Chicago when a Southwest flight over shot the end of the runway due to slippery snow/ice conditions and impacted a car on the road just outside the perimeter fence. The driver died.

I hear you on that. This has been a long day (I’m reading the story at 8:40 Central time), but I suddenly got a new burst of energy, and my day suddenly seemed better in retrospect.

Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach is a liar, a degenerate and a true enemy of the people. I have no idea why he isn’t in jail now. I believe he is incapable of understanding that laws apply to him, regardless of his beliefs, and will end up in jail eventually.

Oh dog, yes. I remember sitting in an international arbitration with 3 very distinguished arbitrators, 2 of whom were former ICJ justices. The other side (a South American national oil company) submitted videos it said were evidence of our client having “sabotaged” the oil loading facility it operated in country during a period of political unrest. We discovered the scenes shown in the videos were actually excerpts from propaganda videos the government had shown on state TV at the time, involving facilities having nothing to do with our client. We presented this fraud to the arbitrators in the hearing, and the NOC’s lead counsel started out his response by claiming this was just a mistake “by one of my young associates.” The arbitrators were clearly Not Amused, and the guy just dug himself in deeper by trying to throw his associates under the bus.

It went downhill from there for him and his client.

He’s being held in contempt, which is different from a criminal conviction for contempt.

Not that it’s good news for him, but he’s not quite in Arpaio territory yet.

Sounds like a worthy cause. The first time I saw a lawyer do it while I was clerking was very memorable. The judge just let him have it right there in front of his client. That was enough for me to learn that lesson.

If you were casting a movie and you wanted someone to play a clueless rube you could not do better than our friend Kris. He’s just got the look. It’s probable that he is a cynical operator or just a nasty one but I always get the feeling he really believes this stuff.

If you assume he is an idiot then throw into the mix that he gets huge amounts of reinforcement from the entire industry. From long lists of famous people, rich ones too. He’s a hero in his own mind. A big shot player on the big stage. I think that is the actual case. His belief in massive voter fraud is exactly equivalent to the now exploding flat earth movement.

Just go to YouTube in search for ‘flat earth’ if you don’t know what I’m talking about. You don’t have to be from Kansas to be a flat earther but it might help.

I would argue that if someone is intelligent, but then uses their intelligence to do stupid stuff, that this person must be pretty stupid.

Why not - from the reported initial sanction against him, Kovach will be doing it!

All hail the Lady of perpetual contemption.

Wait! You want her to treat him he way he is treating everybody else? It’d be totally fair to treat him by his own rules but it would also be totally UnAmerican.

yep …

you need to give everybody else a ’ like ’ for that …

I hold him and the entire GOP in contempt of humanity and America and her ideals.
The sentence for that contempt is death by guillotine.
I guess 27% of us are lucky I’m not an emperor king or anything.
