Count them and let the chips fall where they may…

The days of getting Gored will be soon over…

I sure would like to see Brian Kemp try to intimidate this ruling with his shotgun once they glue him back together.

The Republicans sure put a hell of a lot of effort into not counting votes. It’s almost as if they think some people shouldn’t be allowed to vote. Imagine that.

This should make Kemp’s ‘I’M IN CHARGE GOD DAMMIT’ little head explode.

This court decision is another shining example of why it’s super important to VOTE – and vote for politicians who will nominate judges who view our rights such as voting through clear spectacles and not partisan colored ones. This decision is very good for those of us who truly value fairness.

It will take this nation more than two generations to rid our judicial system of Trump’s hyper-partisan GOP judges. The effects of the decisions these jurists will make will last even longer in some instances. If for nothing else, I sincerely hope this has been a lesson that right-minded people never forget.

There’s a lot of Georgia related judge action. This at the U.S. District level.

“But U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg said late Monday that the
secretary of state’s office could not certify results before Friday and
that it had to “immediately establish and publicize on its website a
secure and free-access hotline or website for provisional ballot voters
to access to determine whether their provisional ballots were counted
and, if not, the reason why.””

Doesn’t this ruling require the SOS to apply the same standard to the Abrams/Kemp race?

yeah. let’s go back to the old fashioned way where eligible voters vote, all votes are tallied, and the person with the most votes is declared the winner. i guess i’m old school.

Trump: This is wrong… very very wrong. How do we know if the person was ever born if the birth year is missing?

Getting Gored? I think a better turn of phrase would be, “The days of Gore-ing will soon be over.” Gore-ing being the practice of caving before all of the votes have been counted over a misplaced (or disingenuous) sense of “doing what’s right for the Country.” Gore was his own worst enemy during the recount. If he hadn’t tried to be too cute by half and asked that all of the votes in all of the counties be recounted he would have won under any scenario of which ballots constituted valid ballots.

Worse yet, the Russians didn’t sign off on this ruling.

Let’s don’t.

Let’s go to a saner vote counting system, like ranked preference (a/k/a instant runoff) instead of first past the post (plurality counting).

Didn’t he resign from the GA SoS position? That means he’s not large and in charge anymore.

I REALLY don’t remember ever having my birth year on anything involving voting.

All you need to know about politics in America is which party spends all of their time and effort trying to stop huge swaths of people from voting. Really, what else do you need to know?

The Rs with their insistence in discarding mail in ballots also says they’re willing to overlook ballots sent by military personnel which are notoriously late in arriving stateside.

In all fairness, we’ve never really done voting right, especially in the South.

You should check out TPM’s summer series on voting rights.
