I used to live in Ohio. This is huge. Maybe we can have a fair election in this state for once. This calls for thoughts and prayers.
I still have family there. Can’t believe that we are related. But hopefully the trumpies will begin to age out of the voting population

Republican strategy:
Win office (even better if done illegitimately). Gerrymander and change laws/policies to suppress Democratic votes. Delay and obfuscate when inevitable lawsuits occur, while ramming through deeply unpopular policies. Oh, and feign innocence throughout the process.
The GOP response: “We don’t want liberal activist judges. We want good Republican activist judges.”
Republicans will not stop trying to rig the vote because they can not win any other way. The GOP have gone so far off the right wing edge they will eventually be a rump party fighting over the dregs of society. Look at CA the Republican party is in third party status, behind decline to state.
And I for one cheer! They brought it on themselves aided and abetted by RR in his time as governor and later on Wilson
You forgot: ramming through those unpopular policies and performing other voter suppression tactics too close to elections to stop them in the courts before Election Day. The intent being to steal THIS election. Who cares if the tactics are later found illegal?
Don’t hold your breath. I grew up here and this part of the state is firmly red. They don’t really care who is running, they vote for the party, because their parents and grandparents did. As for them aging out, the biggest Trump supporters I know are my two nephews and their father. Full blown Tea Party, birther, Trump fellating idiots who firmly believe that Obama destroyed this country and it is becoming great again.
The oldest nephew is the worst of the bunch, he has become an anti-vaxxer as well, which even surprised his brother. My sister chose poorly for a boyfriend back in high school.
It’s possible they’ll go to the supremes for an emergency stay, and likely it will be granted. No republican wants more details of their anti-democracy tactics on the official record.
Sorry to hear about ignorant relatives in Ohio. Maybe they could be swayed by thinking about how they want the best doctors for themselves and their families, doctors who are, or probably are, well educated, intelligent,and well meaning. Why wouldn’t they want the same in their politicians? Why put up with anything less?

That’s so sad. I remain hopeful, but know what you mean. The biggest trumpers in my family are middle aged. And they have kids. But my dad was a bigot ( god rest his soul) and if he were alive probably would have watched fox . I turned out differently, so there is always hope.
