Can’t even call her a conservative judge:

Chief Judge Navarro was nominated by President Barack Obama on December 24, 2009 (Christmas Eve) to United States District Judge for the District of Nevada. She was confirmed by a unanimous vote of the U.S. Senate on May 5, 2010.

She was recommended by Harry Reid.

OK, we have some federal land right here in Philly. It’s called Independence National Park, and it includes the Liberty Bell and Independence Hall. I’m assuming that, based on these Bundy trials, it would be totally fine for a posse of armed people (let’s just say Black Lives Matter, for example) to take over the site as a protest? Just exercising their rights as citizens. Everyone’s cool with that, right?

"Navarro faulted federal prosecutors for failing to turn over all evidence to defense attorneys, "

Which was no doubt on purpose in order to achieve this result.

It’s not her. It’s the conservative prosecutors who are opposed to doing their jobs and don’t want death threats ruining their lives and terrifying their families. Turning over all favorable evidence to the defense is so utterly rudimentary and of such high importance that it is among the top line priority items in any competent prosecution. You DON’T fuck it up oopsy-style. These people should be fired, disbarred and investigated to determine whether it was deliberate.

Wonder where their rage will lead them - when the govt lands are sold off… and are promptly bought up for mining or other uses by big corporations.

Where does that rage get targeted when it isn’t the govt saying - you have to pay (cheapest going rates) to graze on these lands - but instead it is well funded corporations charging tons more rates - and if not paid have an army of well paid lawyers to sue them (Bundys and others) for non payment. Pulling the ‘we just won’t pay’ (for decades) the Bundy clan/ranch did would have lead to suits that would have bankrupted them - and probably ended up with the corporate interests taking over the Bundy ranch.

Occupy (Insert Major Corporation name)?

Damn fools.

“…enlisting armed gunmen to force government agents to abandon the effort.”

If they’d only been people of color, panicked law enforcement would’ve gunned them down instantly.

Could’ve saved all the fuss.

But no, they just had to be pink…

Here’s hoping Mueller’s team is better qualified.

Rump wishes he could hire that prosecutor to replace Mueller.

Or maybe they’re gunning for Rosenstein’s job.

The prosecution of the Bundy’s and those that took over of the OR wildlife refuge has been a complete shit show of amatuerism on the FBI’s part. I still don’t trust Wray to head that dept., but he needs to get that organization cleaned up so that basic and seemingly easy cases like these, aren’t mishandled, and people like the Bundy’s and their right-wing terrorist sympathizers aren’t given more reason to committ crimes against the rest of the country.

He is. He was head of the FBI for 12-14 years. Plus he has his pick of any current or past prosecutors. He has the best of the best working for him.

If you’re white and right (wing), it’s apparently okay to brandish weapons at federal agents. If the Bundy’s and their supporters had been black or latino or American Indian or etc., they’d all be corpses.

It’s a near-certainty that this result (together with the result in the Oregon case) will lead to more incidents of angry, ignorance-and-alcohol-fueled armed redneck mobs taking over federal lands.

And I’d say there’s a pretty high chance that some of these morons will take these court rulings as an invitation to open fire on federal law enforcement officers.

You’re shtting me…this is ridiculous.

A friendly clarification: FBI agents don’t prosecute cases, U.S. Attorneys do. According to the article, the prosecution failed to turn over “records about the conduct of FBI and BLM agents” to the defense.

It’s not clear (at least not from this article) whether there was serious misconduct by FBI and BLM agents or whether the only real problem was the prosecution’s failure to turn over the records.

Just put a lien on their property to repay what they owe and call it a day.

Are you really telling me a federal prosecutor isn’t aware of the Brady rule? Is this guy in line for a federal judgeship under Trump?
