Discussion: Judge Agrees To Pause Financial Record Subpoenas While Trump Appeals

So is this good or bad?

Only if they are removed surgically. It’s very unpleasant surgery. My ex- had heel spurs that were really bothering her. She decided to have them removed. The orthopedic surgeon removed one, and after going through the surgery and rehabbing she decided the other didn’t bother her so much after all.

Can Trump prove he had them?

I suppose he could produce X-rays from the period showing the bone spurs.

I want to see the X-rays.If they were real, were they removed? If not, they should still be there to prove.

Exactly. If they were removed, there would be a substantial keloid scar on his heels.

If they WERE removed, I want to see the paperwork.

If they weren’t removed, they would still be there and he could produce current X-rays showing them. In fact, given the way bone spurs work, they’d be worse now.

Wonkette has a different take on this:

Main point:

Get it? This is a calculated decision to give up a small chance of getting the documents now to avoid a big risk that Congress won’t get them at all before the election. Agree or disagree with the math, but don’t say this is Democrats being too chickenshit to take on Trump. Because that ain’t it, chief.

I do not have the answers myself, just pointing out another view.

Then its time we demand to see the bone spurs… birth certificate, hell, we want his X-rays.

Looks to me like Justin Amash has pointed the way forward for the Dems…Town Halls, Public Pressure. I have said on another thread that we have a Russian Agent in the WH.

I do not blame Pelosi as much as the American people, who have not collectively indicated that they want to Impeach this man…and until they DO, I would do exactly what Pelosi is doing.

If we were more capable of putting country before party and leaving the racism alone long enough to see the threats we face, Pelosi would be keeping her door from being beaten down by people DEMANDING Impeachment.

???

When both parties jointly request something like this, wouldn’t it be extraordinarily unusual for the judge not to grant it?

Funny. Wonkette is political satire. Get it?

Nancy Delay is doing everything she can to prevent public opinion from shifting to being more pro-impeachment because she is against impeachment. This “pause” (more slow-walking) is another example.

Leaders lead from the front of the crowd. They don’t follow from behind it. Nancy is clearly leading the “don’t impeach” crowd.

Unfortunately, the x rays can’t be released as long as they’re under audit by the IRS.

Wouldn’t that be the FDA?

Seems reasonable enough. The Dotard led the charge to demand Obama’s birth certificate. Buttigieg should lead the charge to see the Dotard’s x-rays.

According to the ramos order, the expedited appeal request has already been filed. Does anyone have a link to it?

And yet she’s still more relevant to the conversation. Get it?

I’ll take Wonkette over you any day of the week.

THe Mazars appeal has an oral arguments date of July 12…so there won’t be a decision until after that.

That being said, the Deutsche Bank appeal is not on the merits of the case, but an appeal of Ramos’s refusal to issue a temporary injunction, so this may go faster…or may not .

more like Ramos realized that if he did not grant the stay, the appeals court would have to work over the memorial day weekend to do it themselves…and district court judges like appeals court judges to be happy.

Thanks for the knowledge.

It’s a high risk, high reward strategy. If everything goes as it should, it just delays the inevitable.

However, the longer it’s delayed, the more the chance that something unexpected occurs. Think the SCOTUS ‘discovering’ a new Presidential right to privacy that extends to his family and finances.

Trump has played this game all his life and he’s shown it works. It really is a critical flaw in our legal system

You can bet Barr’s in charge of the bone spurs now.

I flagged you for appropriating another tpm poster’s avatar, with the negating slash across it. This is needlessly provocative at least, and smacks of harassment.

yes. you’re missing that under @john819 schedule, the docs are produced in June – no one has examined them yet. Its just the Mazar’s files themselves. And while there are doubtless some “WTF!” emails in those files, a full review of the document will take months and months – making the release date so close to the general election that anything that comes out will be seen through a “political game” lens.

Additionally, financial crimes are ususally complicated, and the Mazar’s disclosure is likely to have little or no impact if Congress does not get the docs well before June 2020
