Oh yeah? Like how, exactly?
Broaddrick’s allegations had a political stink at the time they were made. Yes, Bill Clinton was apparently aggressive in his responses to what he perceived to be feminine willingness (behavior that in romance novels might be characterized as “overwhelming passion,” blah blah blah). It seems to have “worked” for him in gaining apparently willing temporary partners. The extent of his trespasses in this vein will probably never be known, but according to Linda Tripp, Katherine Willey was glowing with disheveled pride after Bill kissed her in his typical Lothario fashion. Tripp (not exactly Bill’s biggest fan, as I think we’ll all agree) claimed that Willey was pleased as punch that she had confirmed that she was now going to be “Clinton’s Judith Exner (JFK’s mistress)”
It was only after she got home and found out that her husband had committed suicide that the guilt of her exciting encounter caught up with her.
Broaddrick apparently got more than she bargained for (as did Paula Jones), when she agreed to meet Clinton alone in his hotel room, but both women’s accounts of those meetings are riddled with problems, and any reasonably competent attorney would demolish them if they were brought to court.
I do not question that Broaddrick might still FEEL that she was assaulted that day (whenever it was), especially when she thought about her hasty encounter after the fact. However, I question, as I did then, why she decided to haul this harrowing experience into the public limelight at such a politically…opportune time.
But the ugliest frosting on the cake, which makes me want to be unsympathetic to this woman who is claiming rape, is the utter bullsht about Hillary Clinton supposedly obliquely THANKING HER LATER for not reporting the incident.
I’m sorry, but that is just a flat out lie. Broaddrick willingly went to a fundraiser for Clinton after the clandestine terror of her experience with him, and amazingly, Hillary thanked her for her support. The bitch! (Because Bill was so grievously aware of Broaddrick’s lack of consent or enjoyment, he undoubtedly went home riven with guilt and told his wife all about raping Juanita. “I didn’t MEAN to, Hills, honest!” Yeah. That’s it.)
