I certainly don’t want to see him detained or in any trouble, but why was he released?

He’s not suspected of a crime, is not violent and is a public figure who is easy to find. Why would he be held, especially when the holding cells in South Texas are full?

OK, then why was he detained?

Many people are arrested on minor charges, booked and then released. I see nothing unusual here.

I wonder how he makes a living given that it is illegal to hire someone not here legally? Hmmm.

This kind of stuff is not helping, he thinks it is but he’s preaching to the Hispanic choir. You have to convince the average non-Hispanic citizen that this is all nonsense and that the kids should stay. Pompous self serving nonsense just sticks in the average persons craw.

My immediate advice, use Jesus. It’s amazing how the Jesus people disappear when a real Jesus moment appears. Rub him in their face. Two things might happen. One, they will be shamed into doing the moral thing or two, they will have a sudden affinity for the separation of Church and State.

My ultimate advice is if they send us their people we will take their land. Statehood for the Central American republics. It’s just the right mix of Jingoism and Democracy. Vamanos!

If I’m not mistaken he falls under Obama’s deferred action program which should allow him to travel anywhere within the United States without fear of arrest but doesn’t include any kind of Dreamer’s Identification card.

Apparently there’s a 100 mile zone where border patrol agents (or Texas militia members) can ask for proof of citizenship.

Jesus, God’s, first act was to comply with the government and return to his earthly homeland to be born.

Who is going to break the news to Sheriff Joe Arapio. This will cause him a major soft on.

Bad move, really bad move.

You’d have to ask Romney’s gardener Hugh.

No, he has stated himself he is past the upper age limit for deferred action program.

Only if they are an employee. If Josh wants to buy articles from a freelance journalist, there is no requirement that the person be legally admitted to the US; they don’t even have to be in the US at all. He could hire an Australian living in China to write stories about Vietnam if he wants.

And that’s where the archaic immigration laws meet modern technology. Suppose i have a software project-if I want to bring 100 Indians to the US to do it, I could spend 2 years and huge legal fees to get visas. OTOH, I could contract with an Indian software company and start work tomorrow.

Here is a final thought-if corporations are persons, aren’t foreign-based corporations foreign persons? Why don’t they need a visa to operate here?
