Wait — I thought Jared had already solved peace in the Middle East, no?
Jordan Cancels Part Of Peace Agreement With Israel
So, does that mean that when they go to war with Israel, he is only planning on using 1/2 his army?
ETA: Forgot the /s at the end.
Good move on moving the embassy to Jerusalem, Donnie. Who could have seen that coming?
No, that means that if someone else is going to occupy Barqura and Ghamr it might as well be some of the Palestinians who have found refuge in Jordan since being run out of Palestine rather than Israelis who ran them out.
Kinda misleading headline, don’t you think? " Jordan declines to renew lease" is now like it.
[Netanyahu] spoke at a memorial for the late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin.
That’s nice.
Did he remind the audience of how, in the months before the assassination, leaders of Likud accused Rabin of being “removed from Jewish tradition … and Jewish values”? Did he relate stories of the good old days when Rabin was said to be “Murderer of Zionism” and practically a member of Hitler’s SS?
Not that Rabin or the Labour Party were peaceniks — but it’s a disgrace to allow Netanyahu to speak at a memorial for Rabin — or to appear anywhere at all in public, really.
I see visions of trump speaking at McCain’s funeral. Ludicrous.
Ultimately (but likely soon), the one-two punch of human failures Donald Trump and his partner Netanyahu will have devastating effects on Israel’s security. Neither will accept responsibility, naturally.
Good luck to Jordan in getting its territory back. Today’s Israel seems to have the Ferengi-like policy of “Once you have their land, you NEVER LET IT GO.”
That has been the strategy of the illegal settlements for decades. If you put enough occupiers in an area its impossible to reverse it.
Rabins widow rightfully never forgave Bibi for rilling up the crowds at those rallies the led up to the assassination.
Yes, but it’s funny how that logic never seems to protect Palestinian towns and villages!
Those it’s never impossible to remove.
Neither have I.
Yikes! I was just looking at a friend’s family photos of their compound in Jordan on Friday. I had no idea how close they were to Israel until she pointed out, just slightly sarcastically, the lovely view they have of the Golan Heights.
It turns out – and not many people know this – that “doing peace” in the Middle East is hard. A lot harder than they thought. Who could possibly have known that?
Newsflash!
Jordan Trumps Israel
I predict that if this is not renegotiated and Israel has to give up the land, they will burn it to the ground or otherwise level it to minimize its value to the Jordanians.
Trump probably thinks he still plays for the Chicago Bulls.
He might have more real estate projects in need of cash infusions – time for another ME solution.
