The web was taking away that old lion’s share the oldstream media once garnered from the political ruse, and until Citizens United gave them a big revenue booster shot, they were facing extinction, or at least marginalization,
Is it any wonder the older folks who still depend on the oldstream media primarily for their information are voting the way they do? They are willing victims, apparently. But, then isn’t that what the Stockholm Syndrome was all about.
Just from reading the article it’s obvious this person has a problem. Blew .18 on the arrest night and .16 the night of the “mysterious” one-car collision. For anybody not familiar with DWI: the legal limit is .08 meaning she was more than double the legal limit once (at only 10:30 pm - not 3am after the bars closed or whatever) and exactly double the other time. This is not a case accidentally having “one too many” or being in that vague .06 to .08 range that can sometimes be defended in court. And these are just the times it escalated to a level where police took notice.
As somebody who has worked on plenty on campaigns I can assure you: every campaign staffer is working 80+ hours a week or more in October, especially on a competitive race. In other words, the drinking had to have started and approved of at the office (or hanging out with reporters) those nights. I’m a real stickler on my campaigns in not allowing alcohol in the workplace and every time I hear a story like this I remember why. But I usually run “field” offices where we actually have to work and report measurable progress every night, not kiss reporter ass.
