Preaching to the choir here Mr Stewart.

I feel bad for Jordan and Jessica. Their characters have become entirely “idiot racist white guy” and “black woman angry at idiot racist white guy”.

One of the main streets in downtown Charleston is Market Street. That’s not where they had a farmer’s market, that’s where the slave market was. The main building is still standing and has been turned into a museum.

Hypocrisy, glaring inconsistencies, obvious lies, coded racism, bigotry, homophobia…etc…All are hallmarks of FOX, and that atmosphere exists because it appeals to, it defines, their devoted demographic. It is the worst kind of masquerading propaganda machine, an outlet for the ignorant, hate filled and fearful members of the Corporate Whore Republican Party, the Con Right Wingnuttery and the TEAlibangelicals; they are a legion of pigs who are easily led and are fiercely loyal to the trough where they are fed. That, of course, translates to dollars for FOX, a corporate creature that cares not at all the damage to the fabric of this society it encourages.

When Jon Stewart leaves his post, America is going to lose one very, very effective spokesperson calling out the hypocrisy that surrounds us.

FOX lives, remember, in a “post racial” and “racially transcendent” America. Obviously an echo chamber, a bubble, at Fairly Racist FOX News where, to quote Browning, “God’s in his Heaven / And all’s right with the world.” How wonderful for them! :

Dave Fitzsimmons is the cartoonist and one of the opinion writers for the Arizona Daily Star and is an acquaintance of mine. He’s got a great sense of humor.
Edit:
Today’s example:

It’s important to the success of their propaganda that things be seen in the light of two (equal) sides battling it out, but really, and of course I’m biased, it’s a case of a radical movement using anything it can to advance their agenda, which is to keep their boys in power (the wealthy, capital, privileged class…). So it’s more like one radical side where the end justifies any means, using anything, and the other side, call it liberal or Democrat whatever, reacts.
But this is really a war with one aggressor kept in check by the great nebulous middle. Stewart in a way promotes the narrative of the two roughly equal sides by combatting the right-wing as a warrior for that “other sensible side”. In my mind, folks like Stewart, the MSM, and the non-MSM aren’t doing nearly enough to excise the cancer of Fox News conservatism and the radical movement from our midst, in the same way I wish Germany would have excised the Nazi’s but didn’t. Out them and get rid of them just like what is happening symbolically with the Confederate flag now!
