Randa should not enter a battle of wit unarmed.

The IQ ratio for tonight’s debate will be 3:1 in favor of Mr Stewart.

I have to give Rand Paul credit on this one: Jon Stewart presented him with the blatantly obvious logical fallacy of the religious freedom laws, and posed a question that, if answered, could not help but anger conservatives regardless of the answer.

So he didn’t. He managed to hook on a single phrase Jon used while organizing the thought, and gave a complete non-sequitur answer as the clock ran out. A smart move from an often very silly man.

Rand Paul is a master of Double Speak and Double Think…the problem is that the only time anyone ever managed to pin him down on anything he ran away whining and complaining about how horrible that person (Maddow) was.

Never mind the fact that the Freedom of Speech is, the late Terry Pratchett pointed out, is predicated, like all freedoms, upon the Freedom to Take The Consequences.

Sadly for him doesn’t have much choice, but luckily for him he doesn’t know it.

Let’s not forget the time Paul ran away from a cheeseburger!

He’s a slippery one, that Rand Paul. I think he’s the only candidate who understands confirmation bias. He knows if he just keeps saying enough stuff, people will ignore or deny the stuff they don’t like, and remember the stuff they do like. That’s how you get young liberal college kids thinking he’s a savior who will take us into the new age of liberal freedom, and old people who think he’s going to keep those gays away from our cakes.

The truth is, he’s just another in a long line of people who have managed to claw their way to the top of bullshit mountain.

My twelve year old could go “toe to toe” with this intellectually bankrupt, supossed libertarian. And she would wipe the floor with him, doubly so if the moderator would make mini-Galt stay on topic.

It is also the way his deep racism is all but ignored by the media. Just look at the number of times he is invited to appear on the Sunday talk shows. They adore him.

You need to understand what a Libertarian Paradise looks like. There’s no “coercion,” so half the people have the freedom to do whatever they like to everyone else. All conflicts are resolved, not by the government, but through private actions. So, the other half of the population consists of attorneys who spend all their time filing lawsuits, seeking damages for the harm done by X to Y.

How the resulting judgments are enforced is an excercise left to the student, as is the question of how one gets to court in the first place, since there are no public roads or other forms of public transportation.

What’s not to like about that?

In all fairness to Libertarians though, it really does make sense if you step back a bit and look at it through the mindset of a spoiled and naive white college kid who smokes enormous amounts of weed.

So, he thinks religious fanatics should be allowed to “live life the way they see fit” but gay people can’t do the same?

It definitely is a better move compared to how he reacts to every time he is asked immigration questions: by running away.

Don’t make fun of this guy! He’s a totally principled small-government libertarian who wants the government to regulate sex and pregnancy!

Sure, Christians can “live life” the way they see it. In their CHURCHES. However, America is a SECULAR country, founded upon the notion of SEPARATION between church and state. If Christians want to live life they way they see fit, then they should just go and start their own theocratic nation.

Does Rand have strongly held religious beliefs against brushes and combs?
