Rest In Peace, Senator.
I did not agree with your politics, but no one can doubt you served your country, and sacrificed much for it.
The last man in the Republican Party.
Farewell Sir.
Sources say his last wish was that Trump could attend the funeral on one condition:
If he traded places with him.
Thanks, I needed a laugh.
How will Lindsey Graham stand up now that his spine has died?
Condolences to the Family of the Honorable John McCCain

Decency
Part and parcel of an imperfect man.
Let us celebrate his achievements, applaud his decency and honor his service.
Godspeed John. Thank you for your service to America. As many say, we are not in agreement with everything you did, but you did it with integrity. Thank you twice for your service to this country, and we hail your bravery when you were tortured as a prisoner of war for five years.
Even though I am a Democrat, I always respected you. My grandfather was a prisoner of war, he was tortured, and it took everything he had to overcome that era of his life.
Some good, some not-so-good, some singular moments (Thanks for Obamacare, Senator). Still, though, a voice from the far side of the aisle. Condolences to his family. The Republican Party is poorer tonight.
The nasty man in the White House just tweeted his “respect” and “sympathy.” Just. Shut. Up. You can’t make it better now, you ass.
You showed your true feelings and utter lack of class while he was alive. Even last week you couldn’t bring yourself to mention his name while you took credit for passage of a new law named after him. So keep your worthless platitudes to yourself.
Well, somebody did.
You mean It didn’t throw in a complaint about being treated unfairly by McCain?
Oh, wait: a staffer probably wrote it, so no.
Did the Grand Old Party die with John McCain?
The one we all remember? The proud and patriotic, red white and blue GOP that worshiped God and bled for the flag and held personal dignity above political power?
If Donald Trump is their new face and name, I believe we’ve all lost something precious.
Are there enough “John McCains” in the Trump GOP remaining to reverse this?
Or do the worst among them, the ones who abandoned that dignity to win a fake Presidency, now own the party?
Farewell, John McCain. You may have been the last real Republican.
A man of extreme privilege who benefited enormously from that privilege - recall the Keating Five. And yet, few have suffered as much humiliation nor sacrificed as much despite their privilege. He was a human being and every death is a tragedy. I will not deride him further. That is the utmost limit of my respect for those who held such power yet used it to help so few. His suffering moves me but his politics largely served abhorrent ends. What a thing a man is.
I am so glad that it was fast. There is no use to suffering and I’m so glad he isn’t anymore. I’m sorry for his daughter - she adored him and I know it’s hard for her.
McCain inflicted Sarah Palin on an unsuspecting nation and was a reliable wingnut vote 99.9% of the time.
Adios
Very well said.
I’d wager there’s more than a grain of truth in that comment.
