Yeah, smarter folks than I blame it on gerrymandering and that the House is kinda their playground for a while, sadly.
I only disagree with calling this situation mischevious. Mischief is generally what you imagine pixies and fairies to get up to in a Shakespearean play. Secretary Kerry isnât playing here.
He has always been a pretty great tactician in the Senate, learning at the feet of the Lion. If you have someone of the skillset of Ted Kennedy teaching you how to see a weakness and exploit it, you do it. And thatâs what he did.
Itâs a one-two punch straight to the 'nards of the Benghazipalooza.
"Thank you SIR, may I have another?"
Meanwhile the poor, poor BenghaziChickenâ is absolutely worn out, sore and hoping that it will only be repeatedly f*cked in one grandstanding GOP Bullshit committee.
Boehner wonât, and likely canât.
He wonât because thereâs this weird wingnut sense of âpurityâ surrounding the coming Gowdy circus, and thereâs a chance itâll avoid debasing that and itself before Congress formerly declares the sabbatical theyâve effectively been on since Republican leadership miscalculated in dropping the shutdown and their faux filibustering on the debt limit increase in favor of cheereleading the failure of the initial sign-up phase for Obamacare.
He canât because too much of the House Republican Caucus still hasnât formally ceded even the outcome of the Civil War. The hard-cased filbert and walnut components of the conservative movement count their chews in terms of centuries, not mere months.
Maybe itâs a rubber chicken?
Oh Jeeeeezâ IssaâŚdonât you have a fire to set or a car to steal or an insurance scam to run somewhere? Time to get back to what you do best!
I live a stoneâs throw from the little goombahâs districtâŚif only I had some stones to throwâŚ
Oh gawwwwd-dammitââŚI canât even figure out what the narrative of all this Bagger Bullsh*t investigation cesspool is supposed to be any longer. Some outpost on the fringes of the empire was attacked and something, something, somethingâŚ
IN-PEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEACHâ!!!
I just want a CongressCritter, any CongressCritter, to unfurl a pair of Bengahzi panties and tell the chamber he respects their effort.
Someone earlier referred to Issa and Gowdy as âsewer ratsâ! Stop insulting sewer rats. Actually rats are very intelligent unlike ass-hats Issa & Gowdy, who probably have less brains than any chicken.
âLeakedâ? It was a publicly published letter. How could it be leaked?
" Another challenge is taking their eye off the ball and getting distracted by internal turf wars between members fighting to augment their standing within the party."
Secretary Kerry calls this above situation: CHECKMATE!
Once again, the clowns of the Beltway paint themselves in a corner. The back benchers outdo the head cheerleader. You canât buy this kind of entertainment.
âIâm Spartacus!â
âNo, IâM SPARTACUS!!â
The ears remind me of Jeff Sessions. I also worked with a total @$$hole who had lopsided ears, too. Those asymmetrical ears creep me out now.
Can someone explain to me how the issue of the anti-Muslim video has been so successfully turned into an albatross around the State Deptâs neck? If the email to YouTube exists, in my mind that only proves that it was an actual, valid concern that the State Dept was taking seriously and, in the immediate wake of the tragedy in Libya, became the explanation of primary motive, if only for a few days. Why would Issa want this email declassified? Wouldnât it at least bolster the credibility of the original talking point that the video was incendiary?
Can someone tell me what Iâm missing?
âBoehner and Gowdy insist the new probe â made up of 7 Republicans and 5 Democrats â will be a sober, good faith effort to uncover the truth and bring the perpetrators to justice.â
The perpetrators are in benghazi. They and only they, are responsible for the death of the people that died that night. And as for trusting the gop? Its to late for anyone to trust that this new bengazhi committee is nothing more then a political ploy designed to keep a dead issue alive. Only republican and tea party members will believe this crap.
So no. Republicans can not and should not be trusted.
Iâm more cynical than Sahil is of Issaâs motives and less cynical of Kerryâs.
Issa may be a little worried that any revelations from Gowdyâs headline hunt âwould cast doubt on Issaâs capabilities.â But everything we know about the guy says heâs mostly concerned about losing the limelight. And letâs be real about it: Thereâs no reason to believe Gowdyâs headline hunt will turn up one bit of substantive âevidenceâ because this has proved to be nothing but a manufactured crisis, since Romney created it with his crass Sept. 11, 2012, press release.
Kerry, meanwhile, was confronted with a actual dilemma. Which damned kangaroo court is he supposed to hop over to? Iâm sure the administration finds it fun and fitting to shove that dilemma right back into the face of the Grand Old Anti-American party. But he truly is going beyond duty by responding to Issaâs request; itâd be a dereliction to spend more of his valuable time on Gowdyâs expedition.
Would it not be cleverer to testify before the newbs of the select committee, and diss the rubes of the Issa committee? Itâs a tough call.
